Snow pov.

I feel my eyes change color.

Uh oh. That's a sign I'm gonna change.

I quickly get up, give him an apologetic look, and command the animals to separate from their owners, and to follow me.

I start walking away, when I hear Marlene speak:

"Goodbye animals. See you tomorrow!"

They turn around, and give a sort of animal smile, turn around and run.

My eyes sting like hell.

'Keep it in there body, stay there.'

'I'm trying ugh! You don't appreciate anything!'

Wait, what in the fucking hell?

'Don't be using that language on me!"

Who the hell are you? I ask myself again.

'Not who, what. ' the thing replies.

'I'll explain later. Just keep running until a they can't see you anymore.'

Even though I'm completely freaked out, I keep on running, not wanting anyone to see me shift.

As I reach my destination, the extra voice says:

'Phew! That was close! Good thing you felt the sting.'

'Ok, now that I'm here expla-'

But I'm cut off with pain searing through my body.

I scream. Man I need to get used to this!

'Yeah you really do.' The voice says again.
I know what your saying - she's so stupid, it's her conscience.

Well it's not, I could tell if I'm talking to myself.

Next thing I know, I have skin instead of fur, hands and legs instead of paws.

I get up, brush the dust off my body, and ask the voice one more time-

'What are you?'

'I am your wolf spirit. My name is actually Snow. I gave For the idea through a kind of mind link. I hate it when people call me something that I'm not. I am the thing that can make you turn into a wolf, the spirit. Whenever you are in doubt or need help, you can always ask me.'

'Why didn't you tell me this before?' I ask.

'I was waiting until you were ready.' She replies as if it were nothing.

'Why me though?'

'You were depressed, in a need of help. Your parents had just died.'

'But why do I have powers?'

'That I don't know. I only give you the power of the wolf. The powers did not come with the package."

'Also, the other day, I was doing some research on wolves, and the said that wolves have a mate, and are part of a pack.'

'Oh that. Um well you see , about the mate thing, you realize it's your mate about a month after you meet him. And uh well that's why your being so nice to Four. He's kind of sort of your mate.'

'Wait what!'

'Yeah, should of told you that a lot sooner.'

'Ya think! So I'm gonna have to spend the rest of my life with him! Ugh this is so depressing.'

'I know this is hard to take in-'

'Uh yeah.'

'But we'll get through this. Oh and the pack thing. You're kind of the alpha and you don't have your pack yet. You need to hunt down other wolves in order to have your pack.'

'Oh okay. How do we do that?'

'As I said, we gotta hunt them down.'

All this was happening while I was walking home.

'Okay, last question, how do I shift without so much pain?'

'You need to accept yourself. You need to say, I am a wolf, and I am happy about it. That also has to occur when you want to change, and when you don't.'

'Thanks, talk to you later Snow.'

'Bye'

As I finish talking to her, I reach my house.

Once I get in, the smell of alcohol stingers my nose, making me cringe at the feeling.

I see my foster dad walk in, a beer bottle in his hand.

Oh no, this is not gonna end well.

And just as planned, he smashes the beer bottle onto my face. I scream out in pain.

Not even shifting hurts this bad. The world suddenly starts spinning, and I see black dots.

The last thing I see is my foster dad leaving, not wanting to be sent to jail.

And the world goes

Ha! You guys thought I would leave you there? Nah, I'm not that bad.

Four pov.

As I walk down the neighborhood, I hear a piercing scream.

Not the type you hear in a friendly village.

I decide to follow the scream. I already know this is not gonna end well.

Once I get to the destination, I see a normal house.

I quietly open the door, yeah I know creepy, and see Tris, glass all over her face, and passed out.

Not again!

It's always her!

I carefully pick her up, and since I was walking, carry her to the hospital. It's not far, couple of blocks from here.

:-:-:

Once we get there, I scream-

"Help, this girl is passed out and has glass all over her face!"

A bunch of nurses come over and pick her up. They place her on a bed, and take her away, saying medical orders.

I wait in the waiting room, and take a nap.

:-:-:

I wake up to a nurse screaming for the one that brought Tris Prior here.

I shoot up from my seat, and follow the nurse to a room.

Once I get there, a sleeping Tris lays before me, no shards I her face, just scars.

"The operation was successful, she could go to school on Monday."

It's Saturday.

"Wait what do you mean operation?" I ask.

"Not really the operation, just what we had to do to get the glass out of her face. You're a really caring boyfriend, we don't get those a lot here." She replies.

"Oh in not her boyfriend, just a really good friend." I say, stroking her hair, though I do wish she was my girlfriend, I have to prove myself worthy, and wait.

I stay in the hospital, for the rest of the day, and night, waiting for her to open her mystery filled eyes.
