Gregory snuggled his head into Freddy's neck, breathing in deeply. He just listened to the silence.
Well, silence meaning the sound of Freddy's rumbling footsteps and the screeching of metal against tile.
He looked up and wiped his tear-stained cheeks.
"Th...thanks, dad." He mumbled.
Shit!
He widened his eyes at what he had just said and Freddy stared at him, dumbfounded.
"I-I mean- I- I didn't mean to-" he found himself stumbling over the words as his face glowed a bright red in embarrassment. Freddy just stood there with the biggest, goofiest smile on his face.
Gregory stayed silent and looked at him with an annoyed expression.
"...shut up." He retorted, burying his head in Freddy's neck again. Freddy just chuckled and continued walking.
They walked in silence for a bit, the sound of Chica's body dragging behind them not really bothering them anymore.
They were safe, and they were together.
And that was all that mattered.

"You can't do this to us!" I angrily shouted. My body was tied by rope to the chair I sat in. My arms started to ache but I didn't care.
"Oh, Charlotte... poor... little... unsuspecting Charlotte..." he leaned toward me, giving off a stomach-turning scent of dried blood and mucus. It made me gag.
"Don't you realize... I've already won?" He said, laughing menacingly before turning around to leave.
"You- You can't do this! I-" I looked around for something, anything that would help me. Then an idea sprung to mind.
"She will come back."
He stopped in his tracks and turned around slowly.
"That's where you're clueless, Charlotte..." His glowing purple eyes seemed to stare into my soul.
"She's the one keeping me alive."
I felt my heart drop.
"Wh... what...?"
"She's helping me. She's... empowering me." He flashed a wicked grin before continuing. "It's quite helpful, really. She's given me a power that is nothing compared to the powers I've had before... it's like I've been rebirthed. Stronger, better... powerful."
I grinded my teeth together and thought of solutions as he turned away again.
"I have powers too, y'know. All ghosts do. You're not special." He didn't bother to look back and just chuckled.
"I can assure you, Charlotte, I am not a ghost, nor will I ever be a ghost. I am immortal, little one. I cannot die."
"Yeah, I know what 'immortal' means." I muttered.
"Hmm..." he hummed, looking through his vials. He picked up a yellow one and inspected it closely.
"This should shut you up." He rolled his wheelchair over and reached toward my face.
"No- NO!" I shouted, trying to back away as much as I could. If I could just get my hands free...
He grabbed my chin with his right hand and with his left he forced my mouth open and poured some of the serum in.
I started feeling woozy, and the room seemed as if it were spinning.
"Goodnight, Charlotte..." He rolled out the door as I, unable to resist, closed my eyes.

"So, what now?" Gregory asked, stealing a glance at Chica's body.
"Well, perhaps the safest option would be to go back to my room. Not many animatronics come by there anymo-"
Just then, a slithering sound was heard coming through the walls.
"...Did you hear that too?" Gregory silently asked. Freddy nodded and put him down. The boy put his ear to the wall and listened for more, but was unsuccessful.
"...Gregory." Freddy murmured, tapping the child a bit.
"Hm?" He looked up and there were big, black, slimy tentacles guarding their original exit.
"Well, we'll just go the other way?" He sounded unsure, but trying to go around the mass of wires was worse than that. Freddy followed him and looked back every once and a while.
The tentacles were sending them through a maze. Every way that was blocked off they just went the next way.
Little did they know what they were being pulled into.
They soon were at the Roxy Raceway shortcut. (A/N: they're in the utility tunnels, remember?) Freddy took a deep breath and walked inside, grabbing Gregory's hand.
The tentacles were now covered in sticky black ooze of some sort, and Freddy advised Gregory not to touch it.
"I wouldn't touch that if it was for the fate of the world," he had replied.
They now walked through Roxy Raceway, being led by the tentacle amalgamation.
"Um, Freddy? What is that?" Freddy looked to where Gregory was pointing and was shocked by a humongous sinkhole 4in the way. It took up about half of the raceway, and it looked like it would grab anything even remotely near it and suck it up.
"...Let us just go the other-" Freddy turned around and was immediately blocked by the tentacles.
"Woah-!" Came from behind him, followed by a scream. Freddy whipped around to see that Gregory was not there.
"Gregory?!"
"I'm okay!" A voice called out from underneath him. Freddy carefully made his way into the sinkhole, being greeted by a set of stairs made of boxes. He made his way down to Gregory, kneeled to his level, and immediately scanned him for injuries.
Scanning...
One bruised knee.
One scraped elbow.
Two scraped hands.
No other injuries detected.
"Freddy, I swear I'm okay, you don't need to scan me-"
"I just need to make sure you were alright. This way, we can go head back to my room without having to stop at a first-aid station." Freddy stood and turned around, but the tentacles blocked him yet again.
Gregory stood as well. "It's almost like it wants us to go down here." He remarked, staring at it.
"...Perhaps. But we do not need to be down here, I have quite a bad-" Then something caught his eye. Curious, he cautiously walked towards it.
He was shocked at what he saw.
