Gregory just stared at him. He had never known anybody he could relate to so closely. He felt sorry for Freddy, but at the same time he felt... happy that he found another? He really wasn't sure. Gregory looked over at the bear and hesitantly moved forward. He wrapped his arms around his leg and looked up.
"Please don't be sad." Gregory frowned. Freddy looked down and sighed, smiling. He ruffled the boy's hair and chuckled a bit.
"I am fine, Gregory, trust me."
'Trust me.' Freddy would never forget those words, the words that his 'best friend' said to him just minutes before his death. Those words still brought him pain, but he needed to live in his memory. He told himself that every day, yet still walked into his room in despair at the end of each day.
"...No you're not." Gregory's soft brown eyes stared into Freddy's blue ones. It almost made Freddy want to cry again because of how considerate he was being.
"I- I can assure you, I am. Let us just focus on defeating fa- I mean, William."
Did I almost just say... "Father"? Why would I want to say that? Freddy quickly brushed that aside despite the lingering confusion.
Light, rumbling footsteps interrupted his thoughts as Gregory placed himself in front of the button. Freddy watched as nervous sweat dropped down his forehead. As much as he didn't want Chica to be destroyed, Gregory had a point. And from what they saw in Parts and Service, her voice box could help break down gates, leading to new possible exit points.
Freddy positioned himself in front of Gregory so the boy wouldn't be seen. Chica walked straight past them, not even seeming to see them. As soon as she stepped in the trash compactor...
He pushed the button.

"V̵̪̀a̸͚̩̞͖͋ṅ̴͕̭̥̿̈́n̷͈̺͉̚ͅỷ̴͔̲̺̬̂.̴̢̥͉̥̓.̷͎̭̦͇͝.̵̖̙͎͛͌̽" An eerie voice seemed to sing to me. I shot up from my hugging-legs position and frantically looked around. Maybe I would see at least a smidge of light... if I was lucky.
I was surrounded in pitch black. I haven't seen light in hours... maybe days, weeks. Months, even. I had no idea. There was no sense of time in here, in this dark dimension.
"I̴̹̕ẗ̸͚́ ̵̧͠ḭ̶̊ś̶͎ ̸͖̏n̷̈́͜ō̸̬t̷̼̏ ̴͇̃w̴̫͂ĩ̷̙ṡ̵͉e̶̜̊ ̷̤̀t̵̥̾ō̸̹ ̴̳̐k̶̞͌e̸͎͝e̶͎̎ṕ̶̮ ̵̥͛m̴̫͆e̷̪͘ ̸͎͆w̸̩̚a̴̧͊ǐ̸̹t̵̘̾ỉ̵͔ǹ̴̼ġ̷̤,̶̢̿ ̵̣̑Ṽ̵̹á̸̻n̷͚̐e̴̛̝s̶̺͆s̸̠̾a̶̞͝.̷̫͛.̵̱̔.̸͉̈" The voice sounded irritated. I knew better than to keep it irritated.
"I-I know, boss. Forgive me." I stammered in fear.
"H̷̼̆m̵͚̏m̴̺͒.̸̼̉.̷͇̚.̸̙͋" it chuckled in it's deep, British voice. "I̵͎͝ ̷̹̕č̸̥à̶͜n̷̠͂ ̷̨̊s̶̾ͅm̸̟͑e̶̫̾l̴̻̊l̷̘͒ ̴̩̂ÿ̵̮́ọ̶̉ṵ̶̓r̵̗̀ ̶̳̍f̶̜̑e̴͉͗ā̵͕r̴̡̽.̷̤̇.̴̪̓.̸̞̆ ̵͖͛I̴͈̅ ̵̱̊c̶̼̚ả̴̭ǹ̴̼ ̸̼̓p̵͉͌r̷̠͝à̶͔c̸͖͛t̴̜̎ḭ̴͘c̵̭̎ả̴̙l̶̦̊l̶̻͝y̷̢͐ ̴̟́t̶͈̐a̷̹͆s̷̖̚t̵͎͒e̶̫͝ ̷̢͋i̵̹͌t̴͉̀.̵̪͛.̸̏͜.̶̫̅ ̶̗̈́"
That statement sent a shiver down my spine. I stood straighter and lifted my head up, as to look brave. Braver than I felt, at least.
