Freddy opened his eyes in stress and fear. His vision was blurry at first, but blinking a few times too many helped. Tears flooded his face as he looked at his surroundings. Grey. More grey. A small window in front of him. He looked up. Small, circular black ceiling. Where was he?
That's right, he had fallen into rest mode in a charging station. He held his head, feeling an ache coming on, as he pushed open the charging station's door with his left hand. Remembering about Gregory, he immediately panicked until he saw him, safe and sound, asleep leaning against the charging station. That was good. He needed it. With a sigh of relief, the bear racked his brain, trying to figure out what had happened.
Bonnie.
Freddy rushed to where he left his and Chica's bodies and dropped to his knees. He had almost forgotten. He hit himself on the forehead with his fist in punishment.
As if by instinct, he shook Bonnie. Like he would wake up. Freddy knew he wouldn't, not without being fixed.
If they were able to fix him.
Freddy sharply inhaled as he dares to reach his hand towards him. He didn't know why he was so scared. It was just Bonnie.
But what if it wasn't?
What if he was the same as the others?
What if...
What if he doesn't remember?
Freddy shook his head in astonishment. He... he wouldn't. He couldn't. He couldn't possibly forget all of those good memories...
All of those long nights, where they were just comfortable sitting in each other's silence. All of those funny, awkward moments Freddy would have when Bonnie flirted with him, let alone talked to him. All of those times on stage where Freddy would turn back just to see a glimpse of the rabbit.
Even all of the pain they went through together.
Freddy tightly closed his eyes. That was impossible. He would be fine. He would remember and Freddy would scoop him up into a giant hug, telling him how much he missed him.
Maybe Bonnie would even kiss him again, if he was lucky.
Opening his eyes, he thought back to that night. It had been two years at most since then, but Freddy had never moved on. Bonnie was always on his mind. He would scold himself if he thought about anything related to Bonnie, but he couldn't help it.
He was in too deep.
That kiss that Bonnie had given him explained everything. That was the first kiss either of them had ever gotten, to Freddy's knowledge. He sure hoped it was Bonnie's, too. After this was all done and over with, maybe...
...Maybe the bear would finally ask him out.
The rest of the animatronics would go crazy, especially Chica.
Chica...
Freddy shifted his vision so he could see Chica's body. He hated himself for trying to do that to her. He knew there was another way that that could have played out. He sighed in disapproval of himself, looking back at Bonnie.
He carefully and slowly placed his hand on the bunny's cheek. It was ice cold. The realization of it all threatened to bring tears to his eyes. But he couldn't cry now. He didn't want to wake Gregory.
He looked at Bonnie's broken face, trying to force himself to pull his hand away. He couldn't tear it away from his face though, no matter how much he willed himself to. His eyes half-lidded, his thumb slowly stroked Bonnie's cheek.
"Freddy...?" yawned a quiet voice. He turned around to see Gregory, just barely awake, trying to rub the sleep away from his eyes. Freddy forced a sympathetic smile on his face as he stood up, quietly walking over to the child.
"Go back to sleep, Gregory. You have had a long night." Freddy whispered, comfortingly rubbing the top of his head.
Gregory sat up straighter, his eyes darting to Bonnie and Chica's bodies. "But what about-"
"No," the bear cut him off. "You need rest. Go back to sleep and we will work on them in the morning."
Gregory hesitated before he laid back against the charging station, silently yawning once more before being lulled back into a deep slumber. Freddy smiled at the sight of the boy sleeping and just stood there, watching him for a second.
Bonnie would love him... He thought, his mind wandering to the thought of them meeting.
Bonnie truly would love him. They would be partners in crime, most likely.
Freddy smiled once more before setting himself down next to Gregory. He opened his stomach hatch and pulled out the red blanket he had used to keep Gregory comfortable while riding inside of there. He carefully put it on Gregory, the young boy's soft snores sounding almost like a soothing melody. Freddy comfortably leaned back against the wall, letting Gregory's snores send him to sleep.
It was only a matter of seconds before Freddy was in sleep mode, with Gregory unconsciously turning to face him, his head snuggling up against Freddy's arm.
