You and Dally have decided to go to Buck's for a party. You were in a dress that made you feel pretty. You were hesitant of whether you should wear it or not since it was a bit revealing but Dally assured you that you looked good and that if anybody laid a hand on you, he would take care of it. He wouldn't mind picking a fight anyways.

As soon as you guys get to Buck's, you head straight for the alcohol. You weren't a crazy drinker but you wanted to have fun and let loose a little tonight. You grab a beer and take a sip, the refreshing liquid going down your throat. You hold it out to Dally, "Want a sip?" He shakes his head no which surprised you since he was the drinker out of the two of you.

"Who's gonna take care of your lightweight of an ass?" he says.

"Lightweight?! I am not lightweight. I can drink pretty well actually." You smirk knowing that was a total lie.

"Still, I need to be able to drive you home tonight." You look at him shocked.

"Who are you and what have you done with my Dally?" He was doing things the legal way for once.

"Shut your trap, I'm just trying to keep you safe so Darry doesn't kill me."

"Sureeee you are," you smile at his usual excuse. You take another sip of beer. "Let's go dance!"

"Do I look like the type of person to dance, doll?"

"C'mon Dal, pleaseeeeee?" you say giving him your most pleading look.

"No, I'm not dancing. You go, I'll sit here and watch." he says with a smirk. You feel yourself starting to blush but go to where the music is anyways. You let go and dance while drinking your beer. School and work had been stressful so it was nice to have a break for once. After a while, you feel a hand on your back. You turn around thinking it's Dally but instead see a different man. He looked a lot older than you and was definitely drunk.

"Hey sweetheart, what's your name?" he slurs out, eyes glued to your chest. You quickly step back but he grabs your arm.

"Where do you think your going?" he says with a sly smile. "I was thinking we could chat a bit and maybe head on over to my place."

"No, let me go, you pervert," you say struggling to free yourself from his grip. For a drunk man, he still had a firm hold. Your about to slap him but he roughly takes hold of both your arms causing you to almost trip. You started getting dizzy from the alcohol coursing through you. You look over to where Dally was sitting but he isn't there. You start screaming for help before the man is pushed to the floor. People that were surrounding you guys suddenly back away and you see Dally glaring down at the man.

"Are you alright? Dally asks. You nod before he signals you to move back and starts beating up the man.

"YOU PUNK!" the man screams in between strangled breathes.

"Who do you think you are, man, trying to pick up my broad?" Blood starts to get out and you tug on Dally's jacket.

"C'mon Dal, that's enough," you say but Dallas continues to throw hands at the man. Soon enough, the guy starts to get ahold of himself and swing back. He gets Dallas only once but right in the face. Buck suddenly appears and starts to break the two up.

"That's enough. Both of you. Your getting blood all over my carpet," he spits.

Dallas stumbles back still not breaking eye contact with the drunk.

"If I see you pulling something like that again, you're dead, ya hear?" he says.

Soon enough you two were out the house, your wrist wrapped in Dally's hand. You could see his knuckles were covered in blood.

"I should've been there," he mumbles.

"What?"

"I shouldn't have left you there. I went looking around lookin for a cigarette but-"

"Dal, it's not your fault that the man did what he did. And you ended up being there for me in the end so what's the problem?"

"The problem is that you could've gotten hurt, man. What if that ass took you and I couldn't be able to find ya?" he says stopping to turn and look at you.

"Dally, that can happen anytime, anywhere, " you insist.

"I should be there to protect you."

"And you were! I don't know why you're getting upset about this."

He shrugs looking down starting to walk again.

"What?" you ask trying to read his expression.

"Nothin,"

"Dal, talk to me. Please?"

"I just couldn't bare to see you get hurt, kid," he says quietly.

You lean in to kiss him. His tense figure relaxes a bit from the contact.

"Im okay, Dal. And it's because you were there." You say cupping his face in your hands. He nods slightly and you can see a weight lifting off his shoulders.

"You know I care about you, right?" he asks.

"Glory Dal, isn't that what we were just talking about?" You laugh, pushing him playfully. A small smile tugs at his lips and he grabs your waist pulling you towards him again.

"Thanks for helping me," you say.

"Anytime, doll. Have I told you how good you look in this dress?" he says starting to play with the ends of the fabric.

"Dallyyy," you groan. You guys can never have a nice moment together.
