TW: drug use, douchebag men 😚

as i have said before, this is NO WAY is meant to glorify drug use. anyways enjoy and vote!

the smell of a warm café and brewing coffee engulfs my senses as I take a step into the building. the sound of casual chatter and the whirring of coffee machines fills my ears, making me feel at home. it was nice to get a break, even if it is a short one, after being bombarded by work. who would've thought that being in charge of some of the most important lawyers in Queens would give you no free time?

standing in the like for coffee, i open my phone, only to see the annoying 'no new notifications' that are getting more frequent on my phone. as the door shuts behind me, all the breeze is shut out, and it's calm. i open my messages with pete and start scrolling.

('see you tmr, love you :)' is the most recent. we haven't spoken in so long. i carry on scrolling, finding more messages.

hey! my mom asked if you wanna come to dinner, lmk if you can :)

my cheeks start to go red, remembering that night. our most serious argument. i continue scrolling.

peter <3:
happy birthday! you'll never know how much i love you, no matter what happens, i always will. thank you for being there for me, i love you so so much <3

i bite my lip, tears silently trickling down my cheek as i look at the floor, putting my phone away. maybe that wasn't the best idea.

"hey! what can i get for you? and do you want to sit in or take away?" the woman at the counter asks nicely.

"uh- i'll have an americano with a double shot of espresso? and can i have takeaway please?" i ask politely, wiping the tears away from my eyes quickly.

"yeah sure!" she exclaims, and tells her co-workers what i want. "and how will you be paying?" she asks.

i tap my pockets, trying to find my card. my heart drops as my panr pockets seem empty. the door to the café open and shuts, letting in a breeze of cool air into the warm atmosphere.

continuing to search my pockets, i stammer: "uh- i'm sorry"

i strong smell of cologne arises behind me, as a deep voice says "i'll pay" i turn around quickly, confused.

"uh- n-no it's.. it's okay" i smile at him nervously, still tapping my pockets.

"no, seriously, i will" he smiles, tapping his card against the machine. the woman smiles, and gives me my coffee.

"you okay?" he asks, looking into my watery eyes. i let out a chuckle, and rub my face. "yeah, im fine. what's your name?"

"noah" the guy- noah, says confidently. "are you doing anything tomorrow?" he smirks.

"no?" i reply, confused. "well im going to a club tomorrow, you want to come?" he asks.

"yeah that sounds great! d'ya wanna put your number in my phone?" i say, holding it out, making sure to close the texts with peter first.

"yeah!" he exclaims, tapping away at my phone. "i'll pick you up at 8?"

"yeah that sounds good" i smile, moving my coffee to my other hand, trying to keep them warm, "anyway, i'll be going, got work" i say politely, and he nods knowingly, before quickly saying, "see you tomorrow night!"

(~ one day later ~)

i wait outside my apartment building clutching a small bag in both of my hands, a white satin dress falling around mid thigh, and an oversized black blazer covering my arms. the warm June breeze brushes against the strands of my hair that encase my face, causing me to scrunch my nose slightly. an expensive looking black car pulls up next to me, i squint, attempting to look through the blacked out windows, but failing miserably.
