after a few seconds of amazing gazes at new york, I see peter raise an arm, and a wide grin splits across my face. he's alright.

I run down the stairs and walk outside with a slight smile on my face. he gets up slowly, as sparkles of electricity flt through the air and dissipate on the floor. he limps towards me as I move a little closer.

"Hey! we might make it in time for your flight!" he says weakly, but with a comedic tone. I giggle but stop abruptly as an evil laugh flies through the air.

my blood runs cold, as a wave of worry washes over me. what now?

another evil laugh rings in my ears, and so do swooping sounds. Peter turns around, trying to locate the voice.

a final laugh sounds and peter puts out his hand. "y/n, stay there" is all he says, before an oddly familiar face swoops down in front of Pete, making me jump.

scales crawl up his cheekbone, and his eyes are darker than usual. a shade of sickly green covers his body lightly, and his body is held upright by a mechanical suit. fanged teeth line his mouth, as a chilling smile crosses his face. Harry Osborn. harry motherfucking Osborn.

his smile fades as he looks behind him, watching me stand there worriedly. he looks back at spiderman, before casting me a knowing look once again. my eyes widen. he knows.

wicked cackles ring through my ears. "peter" he says in disbelief, but he doesn't let it show. a wide grin plasters his ill-looking face once again. "when you said spiderman said no, you meant" he says, a disbelieving look on his face.

"Harry, what did you do?" peter asks, a tone of concern laced throughout his voice.

"what you made me do, Pete. you were my friend and you betrayed me!" he screams gruffly, agitated and pained.

"no.. never, har. I was trying to protect you" peter tries to explain, but harry shakes his head and moves on the glider he stands on.

"look at me. look at me, Pete!" he shouts again, laughing in pain.

"Hey, it's gonna be okay. this is gonna be all right" peter tries to assure, but harry shakes his head again. I watch in horror. how quickly your boss can turn into a monster.

"I've realized, you don't give people hope! you take it away" harry says threateningly. "no, harry-!" peter shouts, before harry cuts him off.

"I am gonna take away yours!" he screams again, and my heart drops as he turns to me.

"no! fuck! y/n, run!" peter yells, and I turn around and begin to run. as I get closer to the door, relief washes over me, but the sudden feeling of being pulled off the ground, that I know all too well, comes to me quickly.

I scream in shock, and harry holds me to him tightly, as we glide around the grid. the wind whips in my ears, but I can still hear the faint yells from peter  "harry! harry, put her down!"

we glide to the top of the clocktower, where peter perches on top of the glass roof.

"harry! please put her down! this isn't you!" peter shouts, desperation in his voice.

"harry-" I start, before he snaps at me, "there is no 'harry' anymore!" a menacing grin crosses his face. "harry is dead!"

"Harry, this is between you and me" peter shouts again, trying to sling a web at the glider, but failing. the only thing I can hear is my heart thumping in my ears, my throat clenched and my breath shaky. " you wanna fight? fight me!"

peters voice comes out muffled. "let her go!" he says.

my eyes open wider and all my senses come back when harry's soft voice says "okay"

his tight grip around me falls, and the force of the wind pushes against my back, but it's not enough. "no!" peter shouts as I feel his gloved hand brush my waist, eventually grabbing on to me. I cover my face in his chest as we smash through the roof of the tower, glass shattering around us and flying through the air, we spin, and bile rises in my throat again. this is the closest I've felt to death ever.

we land on a small bridge, and I hold to peter tightly. "you okay?" he asks softly, brushing shards of glass off my hair. I shake my head vigorously, and hum 'mm-mm' to say no. a sudden drop of an object sounds beside us, and beeping alerts me. I hide my face again, panting for air.

fiery colors fill the space, according to my peripheral vision, and I drop again, and scream quickly, shutting my eyes tight. Peter grabs onto my hand, as my body dangles in the air. my body aches from the explosion. "I got you, y/n, I swear" I look up to him with fear, and he attaches a web to me, lowering me down onto the moving cogs of the clock. "I'm gonna put you down right here"

I balance myself, before looking up and watching peter and harry closely, as they both skilfully attack each other. harry forces himself backward, pushing peter back into the wall, concrete cracking around him. I wince when bits of concrete and debris rain down.

pushing back, peter ends up pushing harry off the glider. my eyes follow him, as he lands on a small platform. I feel the glider before I see it. the cov from beneath me breaks, and once again, I am falling. my arms wave up in the air, and metal and dust fly around me.

I grab onto peters web, as I watch him crouch down on something and begin to pull me up. my body sways, and it hurts. God, does it hurt?

I'm about to shout up to peter as I watch harry jump onto his back, causing the web to fall a little, but stay in his hand. I yelp quickly, holding on tighter to the web.

harry steps on peters wrist, which holds the only thing keeping me alive. the cogs turn, making me sway more vigorously, and peter grabs onto harry's face in desperation. he laughs manically, before peeling Peter's hand away from him.

it's all happening too fast. peter bangs his head against harry's, and punches him as he's distracted. dazed, harry yells, and peter attaches a web to something else, something I can't see, and wraps it around harry's neck.

as the platforms move again, harry starts choking on the web around his neck, and an iron bar gets trapped between the moving parts and snaps. the reality of what I'm holding onto comes crashing down. my arm throbs and aches, it becoming hard to hold onto the web for much longer, but I push through it. the bar flies past me, and I focus on peter and harry again.

I watch Peter's head whip around and he feels the cogs start to move, the movement that would snap the web. the movement that would, probably, kill me. his foot slots in between the cogs.

this is it. "peter?!" I shout, desperately, my arm willing me to let go. his head snaps around to me, and his foot falls out of place.

the web loses its stability, and I pull it down next to me. a satisfying ring of the clock, chiming another minute, rings throughout the tower. I gasp quietly, almost silently, as I pull the web down next to me.

that's when everything goes to shit. cogs and metal parts and everything helping the clock breaks, and they rain down violently.

I don't see my life flash before me. there's not much life. I feel everything slow down. my breathing slows, peters dive slows, and the countless parts of clockwork fall slow too. I see my helpless reflection in the eye of Peter's spiderman mask.

I also see my hair fly up, as I fall. peters wrist stretches out, and a web shoots from it, slowly. I see the ends of it reach out for me, like a spindly arm. I watch it worm its way around debris.

I feel helpless. almost to the point of acceptance.

I can feel a sense of security and warmth, which terrifies me more than the thought of death. I do hope peter could move on, and I hope my family would be okay. peter would look after them. I hope many would be okay. my brother would have me now, right?

I feel death whisper to me, its lips passing by my ear. I close my eyes softly, accepting it. accepting death.

the last thing I think I feel is peters web.
