Chapter 29: It's good, that you are still with us.

An alarm sounded throughout the base. PIXAL quickly typed something on the computer, before turning to the others.

- In the club "The night is eternal", there was a riot and a big fight. The culprit is a humanoid dragon in a suit. Note, he is armed with an axe and has superhuman abilities. - she informed.

- Superhuman abilities?

- A dragon in a suit?

Lloyd and Cole looked at each other. - Peacebreaker.

- Ninja, we go there. - decided the green ninja.

The League of Heroes arrived at the club, which was surrounded by dozens of police cars. The area was secured with tape, and behind the lines the policemen had to hold back a curious crowd of onlookers.

Lloyd went through the security, as did the others, and they approached the commissioner, who was standing outside talking to one of the investigators.

- Commissioner! What has happened here?

The commissioner interrupted his conversation with the investigator and looked at the green ninja, almost with relief on his face.

- Ah! However, you have not let go of the fight, ninja! That's good, because the new ninjas, there is nothing to count on anymore. - He said with a sigh.

- What do you mean, what happened?- asked, looking around at the people Cole.

The commissioner sighed again and took off his cap.

- This cannot be explained. You'd better see for yourself. - He said, leading the league inside the club.

The ninjas and knights looked around the place with shock written on their faces. There were abundant traces of blood on the walls and floor. Chairs and tables were scattered and destroyed.

And near the bar, black bags, most likely with bodies, lay on the floor. An unpleasant shudder went through the heroes at this sight. Jay even started whooping at the sight.

The commissioner approached one of the police officers, who was taking pictures with his camera, for evidence of the crime. He nodded for him to open the bag to show the body. The policeman nodded and opened the zipper of the bag, and the massacred body of a man appeared.

Jay covered his mouth with his hands and again had a vomiting reflex, as he looked horrified at the dead body. The ninja's jaws dropped and they faded away.

The commissioner, seeing their reaction, sighed heavily and scratched his head.

- Yes. This is the sight we found, when we entered the building. As you can see, whoever did this had no mercy for them. We managed to secure the murder weapon.

- Are...are they...this...?- began Nya uncertainly.

- Yes. These are our new ninjas... The leader was this man... His name was... Jackson Grey. There will be further information about him only after the autopsy.

Lloyd only nodded, still looking fearfully at the former leader's body.

- Is there a surveillance system here? Anything, that could record this attack? - Zane asked.

- Yes. Our technicians, they are already reviewing the footage at the police station.

- I don't believe it. This... this is horrible!- exclaimed Lance, staring at the body of the dead man.

- Has anyone else been injured?- asked Clay.

- Yes. Unfortunately, five are dead, and three injured. Of the team, only one survived. The yellow ninja. Madeline Blossom.

- Is she all right? - Cole asked.

- Yes. She is dazed and lying in the hospital for observation. She is not yet aware of the deaths of her team members. We will inform her in the near future.

- Did they have a way, to defend themselves? - Clay asked.

- Unfortunately, no. Even their ninja moves failed. From information from witnesses to the event, we know, that they came here to celebrate the birthday of one of them.

- They were just unlucky. - muttered Axl quietly.

- Exactly. With a monster, after all, you have no chance of winning. Especially with one, that has so much power.

The ninja and the knights looked at the commissioner with stony faces and a dead look. You don't even know how much they wanted to tell him, that Peacebreaker, whom he called a monster, was actually (Y/N). The most respected hero in Ninjago, right after the First Spinjitzu Master. 

Unfortunately, they couldn't. This would have resulted in the end of her career as a heroine. She would have lost people's respect and kindness towards her.

- Thank you for talking to us, Commissioner. We, will be going now, we have a city to patrol. - said Lloyd, in a protracted tone.

- But of course, go.

They nodded and turned to go, but were stopped by the commissioner's voice.

- Before I forget. Thank you, for not abandoning us, ninja. You are... good and noble people. I will talk to the mayor to drop the charges against you and acquit you.

- Thank you, sir. - said Lloyd with a sincere smile, saluting him.

- He picked the perfect time, to do it. - said Lance, as they left the club.

- Better now than never. - replied Cole.
