A few days later, after Elvis and the boys left for Hollywood, California, me and Lucy were headed on a plane to New York. I wore a aqua blue dress and white flats, with my hair curled. Lucy wore a purple dress, silver flats, and her hair was straightened. "Are you ready to go?" Lucy said as she got her suitcase. "Yep." I said as I kissed my locket. After we gave the maids, Dodger,Patsy, his father and Dee a hug, we headed to the Memphis airport and boarded our plane. Off to New York. When our plane finally landed in the big apple, a limo picked us up and drove us to the Plaza hotel. We went inside, checked in, and went to our suite and hung out for a while. After we walked around the hotel, we decided to go and see the sights. While we're were walking around Times Square, we bumped into a woman with brown hair. "Oh, I'm sorry." I said as I helped the woman up. "Oh, it's alright sweetie. No harm, no foul." The woman said as she dusted off her dress. "Your Judy Garland!" Lucy said smiling. "Why,yes I am." Judy said shaking Lucy's hand. Judy was wearing a dark blue summer dress, white flats, and her hair pinned back. "What's your friend doing, trying to catch flies with her mouth open." Judy said laughing. "No mam. I'm just so excited that I'm finally meeting one of my actresses. I look up to you Miss.Garland. I'm such a huge fan of your movie The Wizard Of Oz, my family and I used to watch it whenever it came on tv. I always have wanted to be your character Dorothy." I said hugging her. "Why, thank you. What are your names?" Judy said as she looked at us. "I'm Nikki and this is my friend Lucy. We came here from Memphis." I said smiling at her. "I've been to Memphis before. It was a short visit but it was fun." Judy said smiling. "So what are you doing here?" Lucy asked her as we were walking with her passed a Broadway marquee that had The Wizard Of Oz:The musical on it. "I'm here helping with casting for the musical." Judy said as she pointed to the sign. "When are auditions?" I asked smiling eagerly. "This weekend." Judy said as she opened the door to the Gershwin theater. "Nikki really wants to be an actress on Broadway. It's been her dream since I've met her." Lucy said smiling. "Well, if you come with a song prepared and do a scene with some of the actors, your dreams might come true this weekend." Judy said smiling before she walked in the theater. "Wait Judy!" I said as I held the door open. "What girls?" Judy said smiling her famous smile. "Can we have your number so you can call us for auditions?" I asked her with pleading eyes. "Sure." She said smiling. After we exchanged numbers, she told us what time to be here and she'll meet us here in the morning. "I can't believe that I met Judy Garland!" I said giggling. "I can't believe that I might get to play Glinda the good witch." Lucy said giddily. "I can't wait to tell Elvis, I know he'll be happy about it." I said as we walked into Tiffany's jewelry store. "I bet he will. I hope Buddy will be too!" Lucy said as she looked at the bracelets. After we went shopping for a little bit, we went back to hotel, called the guys, and went to bed, said our prayers and watched I Love Lucy on TV.
