Adel and Bella blur through the woods and jump over a waterfall, "Close your eyes," Adel whispered into her mate's ears. Bella closes her eyes, "What do you hear?" Adel asked. Bella's ears pick up the hood of an owl, the scampering of a squirrel, and the heartbeat of a dear. Bella goes over to look at the dear when the scent of human blood hits her nose from a distance. Not too far away, a man climbs a mountain with a cut leg. Bella takes off through the woods and snow. She jumps and digs her fingers through the mountainside like play-Doh. Bella was only a few feet from the man when she regained control of her thirst and lets go of the mountainside. She falls through the air and lands in Adel's arms, "I knew you could fight it, my love," Adel said proudly.
"We have to get outta here," Bella said through greeted teeth. Adel sets her mate down, and Bella takes off into the woods. She finds another dear and slowly moves towards it, but a mountain lion appears and leaps towards the dear. Bella sores through the air and tackles the mountain lion in midair as the dear scampers off.
After Bella has had her fill of blood, she returns home with Adel. "Carlisle will be amazed. You ran away from human blood mid-hunt. Even mature vampires have problems with that," Adel boasted with pride. Bella sees Jackie walking out of the house and coming towards them with excitement.
"I didn't expect you to seem so you," Jackie said as she looked Bella over. Bella smiles, "Except for the creepy eyes," Jackie says as she stops before Adel and Bella.
"I would keep your distance for now. I don't want to hurt you," Bella said.
"Oh, trust me, you won't be tempted to bite her," Adel said.
"It's safer for the boys to see how you do with me first, so take a whiff," Jackie said. Bella steps closer and takes a sniff.
Her nose crinkled up in disgust, "Well, I can see what everyone's been talking about. Jackie, You really do stink," Bella said.
Jackie smiles while looking between Adel and Bella, "You guys truly look great together," she admitted. Adel smiles and takes her mate's hand, "Want to come meet our sons?" she asked, looking down at Bella. Jackie smiles big and runs ahead into the house as Bella and Adel make their way into the cabin.
Bella and Adel walk into the house, finding the whole family there. Rosalie steps forward, carrying Erik and Charlie in her arms. They both look a few months old with dark brunette hair and bright sea blue eyes. Rose hands both boys to Bella. Charlie tenderly touches Bella's face. She starts to see images of herself when she gave birth to them. "What was that?" Bella asked.
"He showed you the first memory he has of you," Adel explained.
Confusion fills Bella's eyes, "Showed me? How?" she asked.
"How do I make people do things? How does Alice see the future? He's gifted. So is our little Erik. He can control animals and create lighting," Adel explained. Bella notices how much older the boys look from newborn babies.
"I've only been out for three days?" Bella asked in confusion.
"Their growth rate is unprecedented," Carlisle explained.
That night Jackie sleeps on the couch as Bella and Adel watch from their bedroom window as the Cullen's and the Denali's return from their hunt. Rosalie comes into the house first, looking at Erik and Charlie in Bella's arms. "Finally. My turn," Rosalie said cheerfully as Bella gave the boys to her.
"Where do they sleep?" Bella asked.
"In my arms or Adel's and sometimes Esme's," Rosalie said. Jackie wakes as the others enter the house.
Alice walks up to Bella, "Happy birthday," she says excitedly.
"I stopped aging three days ago," Bella said.
"Well, we're celebrating anyway. So suck it up," Alice said, then held out a key for her friend. Bella looks at the key, but Alice drags her out of the house before she can ask what it is for.
Alice leads Bella into the woods with Adel right behind them, "I still hate surprises. That hasn't changed," Bella grumbled with her eyes closed.
"You'll love this one. Welcome home!" Alice cheered gleefully. Bella opens her eyes seeing a beautiful cabin. "We thought you guys might like a place of your own," Alice explained.
"What do you think?" Adel asked.
"I think it's perfect," Bella said in awe. Adel takes Bella's hand, and they walk into the cabin together.
Alice smirks, "Have fun," she says.
Adel shows Bella around the cabin and then stops in the largest bedroom, which has a massive walk-in closet. "Alice stocked it for you," Adel explained. Bella looks inside the closet seeing expensive dresses inside.
"Clearly," Bella said.
"Don't worry, I hid some flannels and jeans in there for you," Adel explained, causing Bella to smile. Bella turns around and looks at the large bed in the middle of the room.
"Vampires don't sleep," Bella said.
"It's not intended for sleep," Adel whispered into her mate's ear, then started kissing her neck. Bella suddenly turns and throws Adel onto the bed. Before her mate could sit up, Bella pounces on her. She straddles Adel and runs her fingers all over her mate's body, ripping her clothes off until there is nothing but pale bare skin and rosy nipples. Bella's eyes darken at the sight. Her fingertips graze Adel's thighs, causing her mate's bright topaz eyes to darken with lust. Bella's lips brush against Adel's sweet and soft lips. Their tongue dances together slowly. All that could be heard throughout the night were their sweet cries of passion and pleasure.
