Allies Pov

I walk to school the next day and Adam is at my locker. Dustin is across the hall looking at me. He begins to walk over to me. I run up to Adam and hug him. “I am so glad you asked me to the Fall Formal.” I say loud enough for Dustin to hear. I look at him and see him turn around. I don’t know if this is such a good idea. I don’t want to hurt anyone. I am not that type of girl. I guess if I want Dustin I have to be that type. “Are you okay? You seem distant.” Adam asks me. I apologize and slip my hand into his. We take our seats in math and talk. Any girl is lucky to have Adam he is sweet and cute. i am not falling for Adam I hope. He slips his hand into mine. I squeeze it and smile at him. I might just be falling for Adam.

The dance is in 2 days and Dustin still has not asked Taylor. I decide I’ll take this into my own hands. I see Dustin out at the football field with a few of his friends. I walk up to him. “Hey, I am Allie. Can I talk to you for a second? It will be quick I promise.” He looks at me confused and then smiles. “I’m Dustin. I-uh-um-hi.” I laugh I totally forgot he likes me. He is stuttering that’s so cute. I hug him he hugs back and when I let go he smiles. “I am so sorry. That was uncalled for I just- I um I just wanted to know if you were planning on asking Tay to the dance. She really likes you. I just was wondering.” He looks at me curiously. “I guess I should i just want you to know I don’t have feelings for her. If that’s what you were wondering. I kind of have feelings for another girl, but she has feelings for another guy.” I feel butterflies growing in my stomach. “You can never be sure of someone’s feelings endless they are told to you by that exact person. If that makes any sense but never jump to conclusions.” I say to him hopefully hinting my feelings are mutual. He pulls me into a tight hug and I can feel his abs through his shirt. “If you hug me any tighter Dustin you might kill me,” I laugh. He lets go and I take out my phone. He gives me his number and I walk away.

That night I tell Taylor everything that happened. She wasn’t very happy. “I don’t know why you talked to him. He is my friend you don’t even know him.” She yells at me. “I am just doing what you wanted me to do. Anyways are we going shopping tomorrow to get our dresses?” I ask her. “Of course we are. I think red would be perfect for me and blue for you,” Taylor says. That night I couldn’t sleep well because I couldn’t stop thinking about Dustin. He is so buff and his perfect brown eyes. I like him a lot. I really hope we work out. 

It is finally the night of the dance. I curl my hair, apply some natural makeup, and slip on my blue dress. I decide on silver heels so I am almost Adam’s height. The doorbell rings I run wave goodbye to my parents and walk out. I look at Adam he looks perfect. He has on a cute tuxedo. “You look amazing Allie,” he tells me. “ You New Yorkers clean up nice.” I tell him giggling. “This is your car?” I ask him. I couldn’t believe he had his own car we never talked along the lines of what we had. “It was my mom’s but once I got my license she said it was all mine.” I smile at him. He smiles back. When we get to the dance it is so crowded. We walk out to the dance floor and we dance to a few songs. I am having so much fun. A slow dance comes on. I see Taylor and Dustin, so I grab Adam’s hand and drag him over. We talk a bit then Adam grabs my waist and pulls me close. I lean in and dance with him slowly. We sway back and forth. Taylor and Dustin are dancing together next to us. I can feel Dustin staring at me as I dance with Adam. I look up at Adam. I really look at him. I think I may have feelings for him. He smiles at me and I lean back onto his chest.

After the song finished I go and sit at the table with Adam. We dance some more then Taylor and I decide to go to the bathroom while Adam and Dustin go also. When I come out Adam is waiting. I smile at him. “This is so fun,” I tell Adam.  Taylor and Dustin are talking a few feet away. “I am having the best time ever. I really like you. You’re beautiful and I couldn’t imagine this night with someone besides you.” Adam says.  He is so sweet. Adam leans down and kisses me. I sit still shocked then I kiss him back. I wrap my arms around his neck and he wraps his arms around my waist. I hear Taylor gasp and we stop. I look up just in time to see Dustin look at me hurt. I saw a tear fall out his eye helplessly. I look at Adam, Dustin, and Taylor helplessly He looks at me then Adam. “ My mom uh-um- I have to go , bye.”  Adam shrugs and kisses me again.
