I look at the text over and over again. Dustin’s name flashes on the screen. I open the text cautious of if it’s Taylor again. “Meet me at the park please. I need to see you.” I walk to Haley’s house and help her pick out her outfit. “Haley look at this text do you think I’m being set up by Taylor?” She looks at the text confused. “I think you should go. I have a feeling that this is Dustin.” I text him back asking what time. After 30 seconds he replies again. “ Two o clock tomorrow afternoon is that ok with you?” I reply with a yes and start doing Haley’s make up. Finally at 6 the doorbell rings. She starts flipping out. “Allie I can’t do this! I’m too nervous.” I laugh at her flipping out and push her to the door. I run behind the wall so Adam doesn’t see me. “You look beautiful Haley.” They are so cute. “You don’t look too bad yourself.” I laugh I hear the door close and watch as they drive off.

I decide to hang out in Haley’s room until she gets back. I take a quick nap to kill the time. Haley’s parents are at work and Haley put the alarm on before she left so I was fine. I doze off and wake up to the alarm in the house going off. I panic waiting maybe Haley came back and she didn’t have time to turn it off. Then I hear a noise in the kitchen downstairs. I run grab my phone and hide in her closet. I was shaking so much I was barely able to dial 911. Finally I hear the voice on the other side of the phone. “911 what is your emergency?” I tell the lady about the noise and she said to stay on the phone while she sends officers. “I’m scared please hurry.” I whisper into the phone. Tears are streaming down my face. I hear another noise from the living room and voices. “I hear voices please are they on their way?” I cry into the phone. “ It’s  going to be alright honey don’t cry. You have to stay quiet people will be there to help any minute. We also called the parents of your friend they are on their way. ” Finally I hear police cars. Then I hear yelling. After about 10 minutes it quiets down a police officer comes up to the room and helps me out of all the stuff I hid behind. I hug the officer and start crying again. “Don’t cry it was just a few boys who thought it would be cool to break into a house and take some stuff. They were harmless.” That makes me feel so much better. At least it wasn’t like murderers or something.

After fifteen minutes Haley’s parents show up. They run up and hug me. “I’m so glad you’re alright honey. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if you got hurt.” My parents then pull up they hug me too and all go talk to the officers.  They relax when they hear what happened. Although I was a little scared to be alone anywhere anymore, I wasn’t as paranoid as I thought. In about thirty minutes everyone leaves and Haley’s parents invite my parents to stay for dinner. They gladly accept. I run up to Haley’s room. I lay down glad to be safe but a bit shaken up. I finally hear Haley pull up. I look out the window and see her and Adam holding hands. Then they start walking up to the porch. He pushes her hair out of her face and kisses her. It was short and sweet. Adam then walks back to his car and Haley comes inside. She takes about five minutes before she came upstairs so I’m guessing her parents told her what happened.

She comes upstairs and hugs me. “I am so sorry Allie I shouldn’t have left you here. I just don’t know how to apologize.” I tell her it’s ok and beg for her to tell me about the date. “The date was perfect he took me to the beach. We first had a picnic. Then after that we talked about life and stuff. Then he took me to GO-KART CENTRAL and we went go-karting. Then when we came here he kissed me! Allie it was perfect he’s perfect.” I smile I’m so glad she had fun. I knew they were perfect together. “Are you guys official now?” She smiles and her cheeks get all red. “Yes and he changed my contact in his phone to baby with a heart after it. He’s so cute.” I laugh and then she takes out her phone and showed me his contact is my sweetie pie. “You guys are adorable!” The thing I love about Haley is we can just flip out over things so we did. We started screaming and hugging and screaming. “My best friend has a boyfriend! My best friend has a boyfriend!”  We were screaming so much we almost didn’t see Haley’s phone lighting up. Adam was calling her. “Hey babe,” he said. “Hey sweetie’” she said blushing so much. “I just called because I missed you and wanted to tell you goodnight.” She started laughing. “Goodnight sweetie I’ll see you tomorrow I love you.” I’m so glad it’s spring break. No school for a week. After they hang out we flip out some more and then my parents call me and we head home. I go home and go straight to sleep.

The next morning I wake up at 11 forgetting I have to see Dustin today. I eat a brunch and call Haley. “I am going to see Dustin in 3 hours. I need you now.” I decide to take a quick shower. I put on some jean shorts with a pink tank and a jean jacket. “How does this look?” I ask Haley. “Wear your blue Hollister shirt instead.” She says I love Florida so much it’s never too cold. I grab my phone, wave bye to Haley, and walk to the park. When I get there I look around for Dustin. I finally spot him sitting on the bench. He waves and I smile at him. “Hey.” I say hey back. “I don’t really know how to approach this so I’m just going to jump right in. I really like you Allie. I’m sorry for everything. I know that I’m with Taylor, but I needed you to know that you are the girl I want to be with. I love the way I feel when you say my name, when you look at me with your beautiful brown eyes. I hate that I hurt you, I hate that I texted you back no that day, I hate that I kissed I don’t know how to break it to Taylor but I need you to know that I like you not her . I hate myself for it all.” I look at him. I’m speechless. I don’t know what to say. I lean in and kiss Dustin. He wraps his arms around my waist and I put my hands on his chest. I know me kissing him was completely wrong, but it felt so completely right.
