Jimin arrives promptly with a disoriented drunk, Taehyung slung over his shoulder. He quickly calls Namjoon to meet him at the hospital entrance, unable to carry taehyung upstairs all by himself.
Upon Namjoon's arrival, he takes Taehyung over his shoulder and carries him to Jin's room, laying him down beside his husband.
"Look at them both, Taehyung never drinks this way. It's concerning, Joon. I pray they resolve their issues," Jimin remarks with a hint of sadness in his voice, as Namjoon affectionately side hugs him.
With both Taehyung and Jin sound asleep, Namjoon believes his task is complete and heads home with his boyfriend.
In the morning, Jin wakes up before Taehyung. Upon opening his eyes, he finds Taehyung holding onto his waist securely. A smile forms on Jin's face as he gazes at his spouse, assuming that Taehyung had returned home after their argument about divorce, choosing to forget about it. This is what Jin believes.
However, Taehyung wakes up, taken aback and concerned upon seeing Jin in a hospital bed, appearing visibly ill. The last thing he remembers is consuming an unhealthy amount of alcohol and passing out. In case he needed someone to drive him back home, he had given Jimin's contact information and address to the bartender.
Taehyung carefully frees himself from Jin's embrace.
"Why are you so shocked, Tae?" Jin questions in a feeble voice.
"What happened to you? Why are you wearing a hospital gown? I was not sober last night, and I have no recollection whatsoever," Taehyung replies, his confusion evident.
At that moment, Jin realizes that Taehyung is still unaware of his pregnancy. He had been unsuccessful in reaching out to Taehyung through calls and messages sent from Namjoon's phone. Jin no longer wishes for Taehyung to witness that vulnerable side of him. As Taehyung already appears displeased about waking up next to him.
Tae rummages through his pocket to find his phone and check the time. After retrieving his phone, Jin tries to snatch it away from him.
"Hey, what's the matter with you?" Tae asks, annoyed, moving slightly away from Jin.
Upon unlocking his phone, Tae notices missed calls from Namjoon and Jimin. He wonders why Namjoon called him so many times. Tae opened his messages and discovered that it was Jin using Namjoon's phone. He is surprised by the numerous missed calls and unread messages.
Jin, who is fixated on Tae's face, can tell that Tae is reading his messages. He feels extremely embarrassed as Tae plays all the voice messages.
Guilt washes over Tae as he looks at Jin, his ears turning a light shade of red, hearing his husband's desperate pleas.
"Is it true? Have I caused you this much pain? Did I really do this to you?" He bombards Jin with these questions, while Jin simply looks down in guilt and finally nods after carefully choosing his words to respond.
"Listen, Taehyung, I want to apologize. I was going through what I believe was a panic attack, and now that I reflect on it, I realize how selfish it was of me to burden you like this. You've made it clear that you want a divorce, and I understand. Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I would probably do the same. We both made mistakes, and it's time for us to forgive each other and move forward. I respect your decision, even though it contradicts what you just heard in that voice message. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me."
Taehyung allows Jin to finish his speech, realizing that Jin is either trying to appear stronger or genuinely sorry. All Taehyung can think about is how much his husband went through last night, seeing him in such despair. The way Jin cried was enough to make Taehyung realize how lost Jin was without him. Was it a mistake to leave? Maybe waiting for Seokjin to come back is what he is destined for. It's not that he doesn't love seokjin. It's just too painful for him to stick around now.
He drops everything in his grasp and embraces Jin tightly. "I'm so sorry. Why did you cry like that? I wasn't dead or anything, so why did you cry in such a manner?" He exhales deeply, unable to suppress his emotions any longer, a part of him still wanting to leave.
"Because I believed you wouldn't return, Tae. I was scared. Frightened, as we have never fought like that before. It was only yesterday that I realized how much you were suffering, while all this time I thought you were fine, just a little sad because my work keeps me away from you," Jin sobs even harder.
"Please don't cry," he gently wipes away the tears from his husband's face.
"Taehyung, I don't know if something bad will happen again to me or us in the next moment. I just want you to know, for me, it's you above anyone else. You come first, even before our baby," Jin confesses, hoping that Taehyung would believe him,
"Our baby? What baby are you referring to?" Tae briefly glances at Jin's face, perplexed.
"I'm actually pregnant. That's why I'm here. I fainted yesterday, which is why I wanted to go visit Namjoon. I tried to tell you, but you were too furious to listen," Jin reveals.
Taehyung's heart swells with unknown emotion upon hearing Jin's confession. As he gazes at Jin's tear-streaked face, a mixture of happiness and confusion fills his heart. He wants to understand what exactly he is feeling but struggles to do so.
"I apologize, Jin. I hope we can be good parents. I regret not listening to your words yesterday. It was ignorant of me to disregard your wish to explain yourself. I am sorry," he hopes he is able to conceal his true feelings beneath a mask of indifference. Although he has always prayed to have a child, he can not ignore the pain Jin has inflicted upon him throughout the years, and the fact they're on the verge of divorce.
"Let us give ourselves some time, Taehyung. Take your time in informing me of your response. I will wait patiently, and i will also acknowledge that the majority of the fault lies with me. I hope our baby will be born safely, and together, we can work through our issues. You must carefully consider everything and not allow the news of this baby to coerce you into a decision you do not truly desire."
As Taehyung gazes into Jin's eyes, he is uncertain if there is any possibility of reconciliation. Neither of them feel deserving of a second chance, and he despises himself for the pain he inflicted upon Jin, while also harboring resentment towards Jin for the suffering he caused by taking advantage of Taehyung's love over the years.
"Of course, you should rest now," Taehyung murmurs softly. He gently presses a kiss to Jin's forehead before tucking him back into the bed.
"Please stay by my side, Taehyung," Jin pleads, grasping onto Taehyung's hand.
"I am right here beside you," Taehyung reassures him. But Jin could tell, his husband wasn't really in the room with him.
