Unwavering

Namjoon, Jin's colleague, let out a sigh as he put down his phone. He had been trying to reach Jin multiple times, but Jin wasn't answering, which was concerning considering how attentive Jin usually is towards his phone calls and texts. Jin's phone never runs out of battery because he understands the importance of being available for patient consultations or hospital emergencies. However, Jin's lack of response gave Namjoon a hint that something was not right.

Yesterday, Jin had asked Namjoon to schedule an appointment for him as he had been experiencing pregnancy symptoms. Namjoon was not only Jin's best friend but also a gynecologist, and upon his friend's request, he took some time to be available on the weekend.

Jin was hopeful that he was pregnant, as he wanted to surprise his husband and bring him happiness. He believed that this surprise would make up for all the time they had wasted and started anew.

After completing his shift, he decides to pay a visit to Jin. Leaving his workplace behind, he heads straight to Jin's place. Throughout his shift, his mind was filled with various possibilities, and he even tried calling Taehyung, but unfortunately, Taehyung didn't answer. All of this heightened his anxiety, and he sincerely hoped that nothing was wrong with both of them.

Upon ringing the bell, he discovers that the door to the couple's apartment is open. Stepping inside, he is met with the distressing sight of Jin lying on the cold floor, with blood stains on his pants. Without wasting a moment, he swiftly lifts Jin into his arms and rushes him to the hospital, desperately hoping that nothing has happened to the baby.

As Namjoon had anticipated, Jin was already two months into the pregnancy. The excessive stress had nearly resulted in the loss of the baby, causing the bleeding and high blood pressure. Although Jin is now safe, the pregnancy remains a delicate situation and will require constant monitoring. If the stress and anxiety Jin had been experiencing continues, it could potentially harm both him and the baby.

Namjoon attempted to reach out to Taehyung through a phone call, but unfortunately, Taehyung did not answer. Namjoon harbored the belief that Taehyung was intentionally avoiding him. In a desperate attempt to reach someone, Namjoon dialed his boyfriend, Jimin, who also happened to be Taehyung's best friend, hoping that Jimin might have a way to get in touch with Taehyung

However, despite their efforts, Taehyung seemed to have disappeared without a trace. The relationship between Namjoon and Jimin was initially started at the wedding of Taehyung and Jin, the event that brought them together. Their wedding anniversary marked as when they last first each other, and of course, the day jin married the person he loves the most.

Being a doctor, Jin faces the challenge of finding time for his family or husband, particularly in his specialized medical department, where emergency operations and checkups demand his constant availability. Their relationship serves as an exemplary model for other couples who face similar professional demands. Namjoon recognized that disagreements were a part of their relationship, but this time, he suspected that their relationship had reached a breaking point.

After a few hours, Jin wakes up, and the first thought that crosses his mind is about Taehyung's whereabouts. As he scans the room, he finds Namjoon asleep on the couch; calling out, Namjoon's voice sounded drained of energy. 

Promptly, his best friend wakes up at the first call. "Are you feeling better now?" Namjoon queries, rising from the couch. Concerned, Jin asks, "Where is Taehyung?" In reply, Namjoon responds, "I am not sure; I tried contacting him, but he didn't answer. Please try to relax. You nearly suffered a miscarriage, with your blood pressure reaching dangerously high levels. I was terrified when I found you lying motionless on the cold floor." Jin slowly recollects the events of the morning that involved Taehyung. 

"Where is my phone?" Jin questions Namjoon. "Most likely at your place. I hurried you to the hospital. I will bring it to you later. Jimin might come to visit; I will inform him to fetch your belongings."

He requests, " Can I have your phone, please?" as he gazes at Namjoon.

Without any hesitation, Namjoon hands over his phone, well aware of the reason behind Jin's request – to call Taehyung. It is saddening that he isn't by his side.Snatching Namjoon's phone before he could fully hand it over, Jin hastily dials Taehyung's number. Despite making around 10 calls, Jin eventually gives up, leaving deparate messages in the hopes that Taehyung would notice them and return back to him.

Namjoon, having given in to his exhaustion, administered a sleeping sedative to seokjin, ensuring a peaceful sleep until morning. In the meantime, he made the decision to find out about Taehyung's whereabouts, who was causing quite a disturbance. It was perplexing how Taehyung could be so unaware of Jin's pain, as he had always been attentive to Jin's needs.

After settling Jin into bed, Namjoon reached out to Jimin for an update on Taehyung's whereabouts.

"Have you heard anything about Taehyung?" Namjoon inquired, his voice filled with concern.

"Taehyung? Oh, he's crashing at my place. He was extremely intoxicated, so I brought him home," Jimin responded.

"Please bring him here, Jimin. Jin is in a terrible state right now. I can't even begin to explain how distraught he is," Namjoon pleaded, his voice trembling, holding back a sob.

"What's wrong, baby? Why are you crying?" Jimin asked, his voice filled with worry.

" You didn't see anything, Jin was a complete wreck, begging Taehyung to answer his calls, but Taehyung seemed to be avoiding him. Jin was in such distress that he almost lost a baby, yet all he could think about was getting Taehyung to come to him. Put him in a cab and bring him here, Jimin," he pleaded to his boyfriend, "I don't know what's going on between them, but Jin needs him."

"I'll be there soon," Jimin assured his boyfriend.

"Call me when you arrive, and please grab Jin's things, especially his phone, from his place. I'm sorry for putting you through all this trouble. I'm sure you're exhausted. Once Taehyung is here, we'll go back home, alright?"

"They're my friends too, Namjoon. It's not a burden at all. I'll be there in an hour. See you," Jimin ended the call.

Namjoon let out a sigh, placing his phone down as he looked at Jin. Jin appeared small and pale, his hands pressed against his flat stomach.

"Is this what happens when the excitement fades? Can someone you love truly cause this much pain?" Namjoon silently thought to himself.
