Undertake

It has been a month since they officially rekindled their relationship. Their bond was stronger than ever before. Jin made sure not to overwork himself, and Taehyung was understanding whenever Jin had to rush back to the hospital for emergencies.

Today was one of those days when Jin had to leave work early, not by choice, but because he was feeling unwell. He knew exactly what it could be, so on his way home, he bought pregnancy tests. Luckily, Taehyung wasn't home when he arrived.

Jin entered the guest bedroom, settled down, and nervously made his way to the bathroom. His heart was racing as he peed on multiple sticks and waited anxiously, his feet tapping the floor.

He glanced at the first stick, but it showed a negative result. His heart sank, and despite knowing he shouldn't, tears welled up in his eyes. He wiped them away, questioning if he had truly wanted it to be positive. Were all the symptoms just false alarms? He looked at the remaining sticks, and a smile spread across his face as he saw the positive results.

Jin's tears flowed uncontrollably, surpassing the level of sadness he had experienced before. He discarded all the tests, except for one, which he kept hidden in the vanity.

Jin couldn't comprehend the intensity of his emotions or the duration of his crying. In between his sobs, he reflected on the painful memory of losing his first child. He did realize that unprotected sex could lead to pregnancy, and it had filled him with anticipation. Did Taehyung share the same anticipation? These thoughts only intensified his sadness, causing him to cry even harder.

Meanwhile, Taehyung returned home to find the apartment completely dark, and no lights were on. He knew Jin had arrived, as he had received a notification an hour ago. Concerned, he switched on the lights and entered the guest bedroom, where he heard the sound of sobbing. Without hesitation, he rushed inside.

"What's the matter?" he asked, quickly moving to Jin's side. "Who has hurt you?"

Jin nodded, unable to provide a coherent response that would alleviate Taehyung's anxiety. "Please, speak up. Why are you crying like this?" Taehyung gently held Jin's face, observing the tear-stained cheeks and swollen eyes. "You've been crying for an hour?" he exclaimed. "Tell me what's wrong." He embraced Jin's head, pleading, "Please, tell me. It pains me to see you like this."

"I'm pregnant," Jin utters, tears streaming down his face. A smile spreads across Taehyung's face as he responds, "Why are you crying then? We're pregnant unless there's something else going on. Talk to me, my love." He gently cups Jin's face and reassures him, "It's nothing, I'm just pregnant."

Taehyung questions further, wiping away Jin's tears, "Then why are you crying?" Jin sobs harder and admits, "I don't even know why I'm crying myself."

It takes some time for Jin to calm down, and when he finally does, he falls asleep on Taehyung's chest. Taehyung whispers, "Alright, we definitely can't sleep on empty stomachs." However, seeing Jin sleep so peacefully, he decides to let him rest and smiles as he pulls Jin closer.

Later in the evening, Jin wakes up to find himself alone in bed. He checks the time and realizes it's late into the night. Murmuring to himself, he wonders, "Where did Taehyung go?" He gets off the bed and calls out for Taehyung, "Taehyung?" To his surprise, Taehyung enters the room, saying, "You're awake. I was out cooking for you, for us."

Jin complains, feeling unhappy about waking up alone, "Was it really necessary for you to leave me alone in bed?" Taehyung gently explains, "It was important because you probably hadn't eaten since breakfast yesterday. Let's go eat." He softly pulls Jin by the arm, urging him to join him for a meal.

Taehyung told him Hoseok had called his phone while he was asleep. He mentioned that he, Yoongi, and Nara would drop by in the morning. Taehyung tried to break the silence, but Jin only responded with a noncommittal sound. Then, Taehyung brought up the topic of Jin being pregnant.
