Chapter. 4

꧁◦°˚°◦.🌞𝙄'𝙢 𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙡𝙚'𝙨 𝙊𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙚🌞 .◦°˚°◦꧂

When I woke the next day I thought things couldn't be any worse at school but I was wrong.

The first thing that happened when I walked into school was that I heard people talking about me and my family behind my back mostly they were taking guesses at why I didn't know my dad. some said that my father was in jail, and some said that he was dead but the one that hurt the most was when people said that he probably just didn't want to be around a kid like me.

I walked into Language Arts and zoned out through most of the class and when recess came I stayed inside telling the teachers that I wanted to help out in the nurse's office which they seem happy to let me do so.

after recess, I had Miss Robinson's class and when I walked into the classroom I saw a bunch of kids sitting with animals and I remembered that Miss Robinson had told us last week at she would let us have a bring your pet to school day before summer break started but I guess I had pushed it to the back of my mind since we didn't have any pets back at home.

I sat there and watched as kids got up and showed off their, dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs and other pets and I wasn't paying too much attention until one of the girls got up with a covered cage in her hands

"And what do you have Lucy?" Miss Robinson asked

"This is Viper" Lucy said

"And what is Viper?" Miss Robinson asked

"He is a sneak" Lucy said as she uncovered the cage to show a red snake with yellow and black bands on it and I started to freak out and gripped the seat of my chair ready to get up a run the moment something when wrong.

"Viper is a Scarlet kingsnake, they can look a lot like a coral snake but they have a big yellow band and small black one while the coral snake has big Black bands and small yellow ones, Dad said it's very importation to remember the difference because the coral snake is very dangerous and the Scarlet kingsnake isn't" Lucy said

"Can I hold him?" One of the kids behind me asked

"Of course, he's very friendly" Lucy said as she started to take the lid off the cage

"Lucy I don't think" Miss Robinson started to say but the Lucy lost her grip and the cage fell open on the floor and her also friendly pet slithered out and under my chair.

I screamed and jumped onto my desk making Hank and Toby laugh.

"Don't worry, I got it" Toby said as he reached down and picked up the Viper he then walked over to me and put Viper in my face making me scream again and as I tried to scoot back I forgot I was on my desk and fell on to my chair knocking it to the ground as I did

"Why are you screaming? He likes you" Toby said as he knelt down next to me with Viper.

I curled into a ball and covered my head then I started to hyperventilate and cry as fear completely took over.

"Toby!" Miss Robinson yelled

"What?" Toby asked innocently

"That's enough, I want you in the principles office" Miss Robinson said

"I was only having fun" Toby said in the same innocent voice

"Now" Miss Robinson said firmly

"Fine" Toby spat out before he stomped out of the classroom.
