꧁◦°˚°◦.🌞𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙒𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙇𝙚𝙩'𝙨 𝙁𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩🌞 .◦°˚°◦꧂
As we got to the bottom of the stairs Tony hit a stone on the wall and the floorboards moved back into place above us.
The room below had all stone flooring and walls and it was a complete mess. the place looked like an old scrap junkyard with all kinds of metal objects laying around and off the one side was an actual forge with weapons hanging on the wall next to it. there was also a grinding stone and other things you might find at an old time blacksmiths.
"What is this place?" Clarisse asked
"This is the place I do all my crafting" Tony said
"Who are you?" Cecil asked
"I'm a child of Hephaestus god of the forge, sculptors, metalworking, blacksmiths, carpenters, craftsmen, artisans, metallurgy, fire, and volcanoes." Tony said
"So your a half-blood as well?" I asked
"Yep, spent a good ten years at camp half-blood after Gleeson brought me there" Tony said as he lifted his necklace to show it to us.
"That's a long time to be at a camp" Cecil said
"It's not the longest someone has been there" Tony said
"Now what kind of weapons do you need?" Tony asked
"While, I've told you who I think so make them one to fit" Hawthorn said
"What about the girl?" Tony asked looking at Gleeson
"I'm thinking cupcake here is a 5" Gleeson said
"5? I'd say I'm a 10 with how good I fight and stop calling me cupcake!" Clarisse yelled
"I can see why you think that, she's got his... spirit" Tony said
"What do all the numbers mean?" I asked
"They are cabins numbers at camp half-blood, Hawthorn doesn't like to tell kids who he thinks their parents are is so we use the numbers instead of saying the names" Tony said
"Why don't you like to say?" I asked Hawthorn
"I once told a young boy that I thought his was the child of Ares the god of war because he was a lot like him and he wasn't to happy when it turned out he was a child of Aphrodite the goddess of love" Hawthorn said
"I can see why he'd be upset, war sound so much better than love" Clarisse said
"So how long will it take to make the weapons?" Cecil asked
"if I make two swords and a bow with some arrow it should take me the rest of the day so your welcome to wait here until I'm done. monsters can get in here as far as I know" Tony said
"Why do we need weapons made? why can't we just use the guns upstairs?" Cecil asked
"Monsters can only be killed by celestial bronze" Gleeson said
"Celestial bronze?" I asked
"It's a special ore mined cyclopes in Mount Olympus" Gleeson said
"What cyclopes? like Mr. Téras?" I asked
"No, these ones are not like your principle" Hawthorn said
"The cyclopes on Mount Olympus sever Hephaestus, sometimes he got frustrated with his work and throws off Olympus and it ends up down here" Tony Said
"And then we make weapons from it and the best part is it doesn't hurt mortals!" Gleeson said a little to happy.
after what seemed like an eternity tony had finished the weapons. he handed Clarisse and Cecil the two swords and then handed me the bow with a quiver of arrows. all three weapons were entirely made out of metal and they all gave off a faint golden.
"I've never shot a bow before" I said
"I'm sure you'll do great, if your after is who I think it is how could you not be" Tony said
"Thanks" I said
"Make sure to keep Gleeson safe, his getting up there in age" Tony said as he gave Clarisse a holster for her sword
"I can still fight!" Gleeson yelled
"Not as good as me" Clarisse said to Gleeson before looking at Tony
"The only thing that will kill him is me and that's only iff he keeps calling me cupcake" Clarisse said making Tony laugh a little before he walked over to Cecil
"Stay out of trouble" Tony said
"How do you know I'm the trouble one?" Cecil asked
"How are you with locks?" tony asked with a small smirk
"Just because I can open a lock doesn't mean I'm trouble" Cecil said
"Sure kid" Tony said before handing him a holster.
"It was good seeing you two" Tony said
"It was good seeing you as while kid" Hawthorn said
"Stay safe cupcake" Gleeson said
"You too" Tony said.
Tony opened the floor back up and then walked us to the front door and saw us off.
"So what why are you heading?" Hawthorn asked Gleeson as we walked away from the pawn shop
"We are going to be heading up through Maryland and New Jersey" Gleeson said
"What about you?" Gleeson asked
"Pennsylvania, but I was thinking we could stick together until we hit the broader" Hawthorn said
"Sounds like a plan" Gleeson said
we walked for about a mile before there was a loud bang sound up ahead
"What was that?" I asked
"Whatever it is I'm going to kill it!" Gleeson said
"Not if I get there first" Clarisse said and they both ran off
"Come on" Hawthorn said with a sigh.
We walked up a small hill and as we looked over it I saw five small creatures running people out of a store that was smokeing.
the creatures were no teller than 3 feet. they had dark olive green skin with long ears that pointed to the sides. their eyes were small but bugged out, their noses were short and smushed with large nostrils and that had wide mouths with rows of pointed sharp looking teeth.
"Kobalos" Hawthorn said
"What are Kobalos?" Cecil asked
"I believe the English term for them is Goblins they are creatures that like to run around tormenting mortals" Hawthorn said
"We should hurry down and help Gleeson and Clarisse out" Hawthorn said.
