Chapter 5
I'm not interrupting anything am I?"
I heard my dad say I opened my eyes.
Eddie and I had fallen asleep last night while watching movies and somehow he ended up on the bed beside me.
"We fell asleep watching movies." I told my dad. Eddie was still sound asleep so I shook him awake.
"Hmm?" He moaned half asleep.
I pointed to my dad and he sat up in a hurry. Wiping drool from the side of his face.
"Good morning Edward. My daughters bed nice and comfy?" My dad asked him.
"Dad." I said to him as I waved
my hand for him not to start.
"You're gonna be late
for school, better get going."
He said to Eddie as he tossed him his jacket.
Eddie took his jacket and got up from the bed.
"Yeah I'm gonna get going. Morning sir."
He said as he quickly left the house.
My dad looked slowly back at me.
"Nothing happened!"
I said to my dad as I took a bite out of my toast.
"No, I just walk in to find my daughter in bed with the neighbor boy." He replied.
"Okay, you're making it sound way dirtier than it actually is." I looked at him.
"Aren't you two getting a little close?" He asked.
"Yeah we're close dad, we're friends." I continued to eat my toast as I grabbed my back pack.
"That's all?" He asked.
I turned to look at him again.
"That's all." I grabbed the car
keys and headed for the door.
"Rebecca, I know you think I'm prying and maybe I am -" he started to say as I interrupted him
"So then don't, because again, nothing happened. I'm going to school." I waved at him and walked out the front door.
Eddie was waiting for me next to his van and he ran over to me, looking nervous.
"So, uh, is your dad gonna kill me? Chop something off?" he asked.
