Chapter 15Hawkins 1984
It's my first day of Hawkins high, I transferred over from another high school across town. It's my senior year. I walk into the school and the halls were filled with kids pacing the hallways, all welcoming each other back from summer vacation. I've lived here in Hawkins my whole life but I feel like I'm new in town, somehow. I always kind of felt like the weird outsider anywhere I am. Perhaps it's the music that I listen to, the way that I dress or my obsession with slasher horror films. It was kind of difficult fitting in.
I made my way down the hall and looked for my locker. 283. There it is.
"Sorry" I apologize as I bump into a boy right next to my locker.
"It's okay," he replies, I look over him at and he's smiling at me. I smile back and continue to place some items into my locker. He's staring at me.
"I'm Eddie. Eddie Munson."
He introduces himself with a handshake."Rebecca Matthews."
I take his hand and return his handshake."Nice tee," he points to the shirt I'm wearing.
"Oh, thanks, yeah Zepplin, love them."
I reply. He continues to smile at me
as I close my locker and walk away."See you around!" He shouts.
I turn and give him a wave.
I make it to my first class and sit at an empty desk toward the back of the room. I lift my school bag up to look for a pencil and a notebook.
"When I said see you around I didn't mean to follow me." A familiar voice said.
I turn and smile at him as
he takes the seat right next to me."Have a nice summer freak?"
I guy says as he walks past Eddies desk."Yeah with your mom!" He shouts back.
"I didn't really do anything with his mom"
he whispers to me and I laugh."Good to know" I reply.
"First day at Hawkins?"
He ask as he leans in closer."Yeah," I reply.
"Ugh you're gonna hate it." He smiled.
My first day of school went really well. I liked all of my teaches and I had made a new friend.
"Hey honey, how was your first day?"
Mom asks as she walks into the kitchen.
