When Jim returns to the bridge, followed by Scotty and Jaylah, walks up to his sleeping wife.

He stirs her a bit and she wakes up.

"You okay to come for the discussion, Rose? It's important. We should all be informed of the plan. I don't want to tire you out though." He asks cautiously.

"Of course I am. I'm pregnant, not old." She snaps out of nowhere.

Jim furrows his brows, bit says nothing. He helps her get up. They move to the mess hall, where Jaylah has set up a model of Krall's base.

"Shall we?" Carolynn says sweetly, taking a seat at one of the chairs. Jim stands behind her.

"Aye. Jaylah, if you'd please." Scotty says, who is also seated at one of the chairs.

"The digging machines uncover the tunnel that goes into the crater." Jaylah says placing an object on the set up.

"That's how I get out." She adds folding her hands on her chest.

"So that'll be our way in." Jim says pointing at the model. "An away team will beam to the other side of the tunnel follow to Krall's base, get the side of the building, break out the crew." He adds.

"Erm. Captain, we can not lock onto anyone inside the crater in order to beam them out." Chekov says, making everyone look at him.

Scotty then comments immediately, "Or I could rig up pulse beacons as pan enhances. That'd get the signal into the crater."

"Aye." Chekov agrees.

"How many people can the Franklin transport inside?" Carolynn asks.

"Ermm. With a wee bit of modification, twenty? Max. But, I'm not sure how long it'll hold out." Scotty replies.

Jim breaths in and starts talking, "Bones, Mr. Chekov, Jaylah, your with me in the away team. Mr. Scott, modify that transporter and do everything you can to get this ship operational."

"Oh. No no no. We're not doing this, James." Carolynn shakes her head in disapproval.

"Rose, we're NOT having a discussion about it." Jim glares at his wife.

"There's no way in hell, am I letting you put both yours and my child's life in danger. Again." He raises his voice.

"James, our crew is stuck there. How could you even think that I'd just sit here, and not go there with y'all." The wife says accusingly. Hormones making her eyes well up with tears.

Jim crouches down infront of his wife. "Baby, it's not like you're not doing anything. I need you to stay back and work on the ship's engineering along with Scotty. Please Rose, I don't want to argue on this." He takes her hands in his.

"I know your more than capable of protecting yourself, but it's not just you anymore, is it?" He adds.

"For once, please don't argue with me on this. Okay? I've always let you come when situations like this had arrived in the past. But not this time." Jim says placing a peck on her clasped hands.

"Okay." Carolynn replies.

"You're not mad, are you?" The Captain asks cautiously.

"No." Carolynn gives him a smile. A genuine smile.

Jim stands up. Spock was waiting all this time. He then speaks up, "Captain, Mr. Chekov's technical acumen makes him more valueable aboard the Franklin with Mr. Scott and Mrs. Kirk. It is there by logical that I'd replace him."

Jim listens to his second in command with a tired expression. "Why is it logical, Spock? You just get back in your feet." He asks.

"Lieutenant Uhura is in that facility, Jim." Spock replies.

Jim sees a flash of worry and fright in Spock's eyes. It is very logical for Spock to feel like that for his girlfriend; exactly how he feels for his wife and child, to be near danger.

Bones looks back at the Captain, as realisation settles in Jim.

"I'll keep an eye on him." Bones assures Jim.

Jim glances at his wife, his all time adviser. Carolynn gives him a small nod.

"Understood." Jim says to Spock, agreeing to his proposal.

"But his soldiers are everywhere. We won't pass unseen." Jaylah says making the room look at her.

"Yeah? Well, we need a diversion." Carolynn says thoughtfully. She gets up from the chair.

"Some kind of distraction, maybe?" She adds placing her hands on her waist.

Jim glances towards the girl, and smirks a bit.

"I know that face. What is it?" Carolynn asks.

"I think I've an idea." Jim replies.

"And that is?" Bones questions.

"There's a PX 70 on this ship." Jim says and Carolynn's eyes widen at the mention of the vehicle. She remembers her husband telling her stories of his dad having one and that George and Winona (Jim's mom) used to go for rides when they were young.

"You're gonna make Jaylah sit behind you." Carolynn frowns.

"Yeah. I mean she knows the way to the place, and is lighter in weight that Bones or Spock." Jim explains.

"She could give out a signal and Chekov would transport Spock and Bones to the place. Easy work." He adds.

"Good idea! Infact great idea!" Carolynn mutters and walks away.

"What did I do wrong now? Babe!" Jim whines, following his wife out.

"Get the PX 70 started." He orders to no one in particular and walks away.

He follows his wife off of the ship, into the forest.

"Rose, why're you upset baby?" He catches up with her and pulls her into him.

He gets to see tears running down her cheeks once he places his head in the crook of her neck. "Sweetheart, what happened?"

"Nothing. I'm.." Carolynn mutters. "It's just. You'll be riding the PX 70 with another woman, when it's your definition of romantic." She explains. "It's some other woman and not me. I'm sorry, I don't why I'm feeling this way, but I just want it to be me who's rides the bike with you." She breaks into sobs.

"Oh baby." Jim whispers and turns her around. "It's okay. It alright." He places light kisses on her face. "You have a tiny lil Kirk inside you remember? If they they weren't there, it would have been you and only you, baby. Moreover, Jaylah knows the way to the place."

"I know. I know. I'm sorry. It's better if you'd just..you know, ignore me." Carolynn wipes her tears off.

"I would never do such a thing, baby." He cups her face. "Ignore you? Mrs. Carolynn Kirk? Never in a million years. I love you!"

Carolynn, Scotty and Chekov start to work on the ship. Carolynn goes to the very old weapons bay of the ship.

"Woah. Vintage." Her eyes shining with fascination as she examines the area. Getting to see weapons she read about in the academy.

Soon the ship's PA system jumps to life and a shrill sound echoes through the ship.

"Lynn, I think I've brought the public announcement system back alive." Scotty mutters as Carolynn is working on the ship's shield capacity.

"Yeah? Good job!"

"Mister Scott! Lynn!" Floats in Chekov'd voice from the transporter room.

"Yes, Chekov?" Carolynn asks once she and Scotty reach the room. Scotty takes a seat. So does Carolynn.

"The trackers say that the Captain has reached Krall's base." Chekov says and Carolynn gulps audibly.
