16. Running

The election was shorter than expected, only to find that my worse fears had come true. Wilbur looked scared, Tommy was terrified, the sinking feeling in my stomach settled.
I was fearful for the next set of words that would leave his mouth.
Everyone was sat, the tension was high, nerves was shot as we all looked flabbergasted.
Schlatt stood up on the podium, wearing the presidents attire.
Shit.
Tommy and Wilbur sat next to me, Techno was behind me. Dream and the others stand on the other side.
"Now, I see many new faces, some look nervous and some look scared. But as my first decree as president, to make everyone's life's better I am going to be revoking the citizenship of Wilbur Soot and Tommyinnit!"
Everyone gasps, a look of pure fear was written on their faces.
"Yes!" I could hear Dream shout with happiness.
The mic echoed again, "And Y/n I suggest you run too."
My eyes widened, "Boys we need to go right now!" I jumped out my seat and grabbed my weapons.
I let them run first, as turned to see Punz, Quackity and Fundy make their way to me.
Looking at Techno he nodded as though he understood. We bolted in a different direction, hearing the footsteps of others running after us.

I was wracking my brain trying to think how exactly we could get out of this without any fighting. We needed to find Tommy and Wilbur who knows who's after them.
We turned a corner running towards the wooded area, trying to lose them in the trees. I heard a pearl being thrown and saw Punz appear in front of me. I blocked his swing of his sword and Techno struck him in the back causing him to stumble.
A loud scream echoed from further away, I could hear it was Tommy.
"Y/n go! I'll keep these guys busy." Techno grunted, blocking another swing.
I turned and ran to the source of the scream. My heart was beating at 100 miles an hour, everything had happened os fast I was trying to keep up.

Turning away from the forest I saw to my despair Sapnap holding Wilbur and Dream leaning into with his sword, about to strike Tommy who was on the floor, completely vulnerable.
"Tommy no!" Wilbur cried out.
Using my gained speed I slid across the grass getting between the two, blocking Dreams swing at Tommy. Tommy scrambled his way up onto his feet, backing up against a tree.
I kicked Dream in the chest, getting up from where I stood as he stumbled back.
"You're still protecting them?" Dream muttered.
"I told you a long time ago, I won't let you hurt them." I reiterated.
"I see, you know you could have had a chance with us." Dream tried to say.
"Well, I guess working with the new president who just kicked me out of my own home doesn't help your case does it?" I replied darkly.
"And Sapnap, let Wilbur go, or I will have to cause another problem with you." I glared at him.
Dream gave him a look before Sapnap let him go. Both the boys stood behind me.
"I guess its time for survival, whilst you go bask in your new riches, well played." I spat.
Dream clenched his sword tighter, I could tell he was angry.
"You're making a big mistake Y/n." Dream said.
"You all have made it incredibly difficult to pick a side, especially after I was sat bed ridden whilst you all argued!"
They went silent.
"So for the time being, I don't want to see anyone hurt, especially people I care about." I said looking at the boys.
"And what about us, what about what we've done for you?" Dream retaliated.
"You know how much I trust you guys, but I won't justify you trying too hurt them."
"Damn, well maybe you need to be taught a lesson," Dream chuckled, walking towards me.
I guess it was finally time to fight the man.

He swung first, trying to aim for my stomach, I ducked down, kicking at his legs for him to stumble. He blocked my upper attack too trying to manoeuvre his way to my side. Blocking that attack allowed me to see a blind spot in his position. Every time we blocked a blow, our skills were matched well. Tommy cheered for me, Sapnap and Wilbur were quiet, the tension was high.
"You see Dream, I am only fighting you to fulfil that need you have to beat me," I chuckled, backing him up into a tree.
Before he could move, I put the sword to his neck, "Maybe understand that I have no interest in killing you, we can talk again once you realise my motivations.
I put the sword away, catching my breath.
Dream said nothing, I must have caught him off guard.
"Come on boys, lets find Techno." I said walking off.
