God this thing was a big deal to everyone. Every morning I was woken up to go to Eret's castle to help with preparations, people were given their attire and mine and technos were especially given weapon spots for emergencies. I was amazed by the amount of intricate detail put into it. My task was patrol and making sure every area was in view for when the Ball starts in a few days. Tubbo and Nikki helped with decorations. Quackity and Fundy helped with the food. Everyone had a part to play, I guess it was to show the Dream Smp members our representation and independence.
As I looked around the area Wilbur had approached me about something.
"I need to ask something of you" he said slowly.
"Of course" I said straightening my posture.
"I need you to spread the message to the dream smp of the ball, I feel as though you are trusted amongst them, it will cause less conflict. Just give them the details and leave as soon as you can."
I pondered for a moment, "sure, I am happy to,"
"And try get back in time, because its getting late, if not, please try make a plan,"
"I will thank you." I responded.
He nodded graciously, thanking me before heading off.
I gathered my things, and thought for a moment. Internally I was happy to see them again, I wasn't sure why but I was, maybe it was to see Sapnap, maybe it was to see Dream. I was hoping that Sapnap was healing well though, his injury was quite severe, but that serum does wonders, it helped my arm significantly.
After grabbing my weapons, I bid my goodbyes and headed out. The trek took around an hour and a half on foot and no horses were available unfortunately. So I whistled a tune as I walked, keeping me at ease, knowing nothing will attack me in the day, well at least not mobs. The one thing I had noticed however was the few Endermen scattered around the area, I just had to keep my head down whilst I walked, but it made me wonder if they were what actually attack Sapnap, or if it was actually someone. I tried brushing the though aside to avoid me thinking about it too much, but the situation just didn't sit right with me. If it was actually in fact someone that was unknown to us, I knew I would have to be prepared for what's to come.
In the distance I noticed the outline of the building indicating the borders to the SMP. Conveniently I noticed Sapnap outside.
Once he noticed me, he didn't seem uneasy or anything, he actually gave me quite a welcoming smile.
"Hi Sapnap." I greeted.
"Hello y/n, is something the matter?" He enquired, gesturing for us to come inside.
"No no not at all, I just have been sent to give an invitation to the masquerade ball taking place at Eret's castle in two days in the evening." I smiled.
"I'm guessing everyone is invited?"
"Yes yes of course." I said sitting down, slightly tired after the walk. That armour was heavy to walk with.
"What is the reasoning for this?"
"I myself don't even know, I think its just to create a time for peace in a way." I admitted trying not to give anything away.
The sound of footsteps entered the room, a familiar face came into view.
"Hello Dream." I smiled.
"Oh Y/n, I didn't expect you to be here, what brings you here?" He asked sitting with me and Sapnap.
I explained to Dream what I told Sapnap, going into as much detail as I could.
"I see, well we will be attending, Sapnap's injury has healed, so we are happy to go."
"Good, we look forward to seeing you." I gave a smile.
"Now do we have to bring a date or anything, any special requirements?" Sapnap asked.
"Only if you want of course, the occasion is just for a moment where its just peace."
He nodded, "Well thank you for your invitation y/n."
"It was all Wilbur's idea, I am just a messenger." I admitted.
"Also Sapnap thank you for the letter, it was really sweet of you." I gave him a smile.
"Of course, it meant a lot.""Unfortunately boys I must take my leave, I have a long walk ahead of me." I chuckled.
"You can't be walking around so late at night now," Dream said earnestly.
I looked outside, surprised at how dark it had gotten.
"But the others will get concerned." I said with a feeling of worry.
"I will send Wilbur a letter, but I can't have you walking around at night, not after what happened to Sapnap. I will take my horse and ride you home tomorrow." Dream said Firmly, "if they have another whole shout at you, I will step in myself."
I was shocked, even though technically speaking we were enemies, he was still willing to let me stay? He must have a lot of trust in me. I guess its still not time to pick sides. After Dream sent a letter to Wilbur, I was shown a spare room upstairs. I took my armour off, releasing the tension off my muscles and relaxed. It felt odd not sleeping in a room that wasn't my own, it felt very different. I just hopped no one was too worried about me. After the reaction last time, it was a tad overwhelming.
I said goodnight to the boys and headed to bed. I was grateful they allowed me to stay here. That was until I was woken up in the middle of the night by a loud shout. I jolted awake in my bed, grabbing my sword which was next to me. I heard the others outside too as I slowly opened the door.
I noticed Sapnap in the hallway, "Whats going on?" I whispered.
"I think Dream and Punz are arguing over something, sorry that they are being so loud." He looked down to see me holding my sword.
"There's no need to be afraid Y/n. I'll make sure you are safe." He reassured me.
I nodded, putting it away and we made our way downstairs to assess the situation.
We stopped and sat on the stairs so we could listen in.
"So, you decided to let her into this house because it was late? Dream she's our enemy, you don't know what they could be up to!" Punz exclaimed.
"They saved Sapnap's life, that in itself is a lot!" Dream retaliated.
"She is still with the government Dream, she could be up to anything, they could hear anything you say and bring it back to them, why you may ask, cause she's still the enemy. I could go kill them right now if I wanted to,"
My heart sunk slightly. Maybe in the end I wasn't actually welcomed, I mean he was right I was technically their enemy still.
" I won't let you do that Punz,"
"Why exactly, what makes you so attached huh?"
"I am simply repaying a favour, they saved one of our own, its human decency." Dream spat.
"I just don't like it Dream, we have plans in place, I don't want them getting in the way." Punz sighed.
"We know our plans, they don't need to know them, but can't we just help someone without thinking about killing them?"
"I'm only allowing this once, this happens again I will take charge."
"Fine then," Dream muttered.Sapnap looked over me trying to give me a reassuring look. I started to wonder what my purpose was, who I was supposed to be, it seems not picking sides was going to cause even more conflict.
I knew it was none of my business of what their plans are, but it still grew my curiosity.
One thing was for certain however, if this continues The masquerade ball may be more tension high than anticipated.
