Jess pulled up at the Wheeler's house ringing the doorbell as Karen answered in. "Hey hun here to pick up Dustin?"
"Yep." Karen let her through as Jess walked down to the basement slowly so she scare them.
"It's clawed hand reaches for you one last time!" Mike acted out of whatever just happened in the game. Will saw Jess sneaking down the stairs, Jess put her finger to her lips telling him to be quiet.
"And.. and..."
"BOO!" Lucas made his signature high pitched scream, Mike yelling some curse words and Dustin dropping to the floor to hide. Jess laughed along with Will as he high-fived her. "Aww Dustin sweetie you should've seen your face."
"Not cool Jess."
"Hey losers." Jonathan smiled jokingly as he came down the stairs as they returned the hey before continuing the last bit of the game, which turned into an argument about an award ceremony.
"Hey Jess." Jonathan nudged her as she looked down at a wrapped present. "My mum asked you to give this to you. Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas bud. Dustin move your little butt already."
"I'm coming!" Dustin yelled back as he groaned, Jess groaning back mocking him.
Jess and Dustin walked up the stairs as they said goodbye to Karen. "It smelt down there did you fart?" Jess smirked.
"No I didn't!"
"I think you did." Jess made a fart noise with her mouth ignoring Dustin's protests to stop, Dustin started to trying to push her away from him but she still continued.
"Oh Mrs Byers I loooveee you." Dustin took revenge and did a rubbish but offence impression of Jess. Dustin wrapped his arms round his back making it look like two people kissing as he made kissing sounds. Jess tried not to laugh as she pushed him making him stumble as she ran up to the car.
"Wait!" Dustin yelled as Jess started the car acting like she was going to drive off without him. "You're an asshole." Dustin shook his head putting his seatbelt on.
"You're the asshole."
"Can I open it?" Dustin pointed to present.
"Knock yourself out kid." Dustin quickly unwrapped the present to a black box. He opened it to see a stuffed toy lion and a mixtape. "How did she-" Jess topped the car and picked the stuffed toy up. "How did she know?"
"Know what?"
"Ugh I'm going to kill my brother!" Jess started driving again. "What's the tape hun?" Dustin picked up the tape with a folded piece of paper attached to it. "Read it out for me."
"To Jess. I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me and my family but not just us, everyone around you. I've never met someone with such a kind heart like yours. Always putting others before yourself and you deserve the world for that. Unfortunately I can't give that to you but the next best thing I could do was show you what you mean to me. I could say I did it myself but you know me and technology so I got Jonathan to make a mixtape of all your favourite songs, some of mine aswell but also songs that remind me of you, and one or two I think you'll like. You're my hero. Lots of love, Joyce."
Dustin read out the letter leaving Jess with a massive smile on her face. Dustin put the tape into Jess's radio as the first song 'Jessie's girl' played which made Jess smile even more.
"What's this song about?" Dustin furrowed his eyebrows.
