CAMERON'S POV

"What do you mean, we don't know?" Maisie snapped, pressing her back hard info the seat. I glanced at Jaime and glared. Warning him not to say another word.

I feared Maisie would regress if she knew the truth, that we had no sweet clue the whereabouts of Noel.

"Don't worry about him," Jaime said, "he'll come back when he's ready."

"He's grieving," I said. "Denver thinks he's with a friend."

"Thinks?" I felt her tense. "We need to go back and find him and make sure he's safe. What if something happened, what if-"

"Noel is eighteen," Jaime said, "he can take care of himself."

"I'm seventeen. I can take care of myself too yet here we all are," she snapped, irritated we didn't think Noel missing was a big deal.

"He's not our priority, Maisie," Chance said, "Noel will have our support when he comes back, of course. Eden and Evie are there too."

"Who's there for Eden and Evie?"

"We are, Maisie. We won't be separated for long, just until we can get somewhere safe without anyone following us," Jaime said, softer.

"Someone is following us?"

"No."

"You just said Eden and Evie won't be joining us until we can get somewhere withoutP anyone following us." My

"I didn't mean literally." Jaime sighed. "We want to be careful-"

"Too late for that," she muttered. I groaned. What a long drive this would be.

***

Ashton collapsed to the floor, knocking his head on the table.

"Hey, Ash," I shouted, rushing to my little brothers side. His eyes were open, but not blinking. I checked for a pulse. "Ash, wake up," I said, pleading.

Jaime fell to his knees beside me. "Tell me what to do," he said, eyes wide.

"He's not breathing. Start chest compressions," I ordered, my training kicking in. When he finished the first round, I tilted my brothers head and did two rescue breaths.

I checked his pulse.

Still nothing.

"Dammit," I cried and we did another round but Ash didn't have a pulse. Harley brought the defibrillator, kneeling down at Ashton's feet.

I set the machine up while Jaime ripped open our brothers shirt, exposing his bare chest.

"Okay, move back," I said, and charged it before pushing on his chest.

Once ... twice ... three times.

I still couldn't find a pulse. "Fuck, come back, Ash. We need you. Maisie needs you." I cried out, vision blurring with tears. "Ashton, please, please."

Sebastian appeared beside me, taking my hand in his, pulling me into him. "He's gone," he said, tears rolling down his own cheeks.

I blinked back tears and looked over at Jaime. His eyes flashed with concern before it disappeared and he turned to "What?" I asked, puffing on my cigarette. He sent a quick look to Harley.
