I'm starting to realize that there are a couple mistakes in the first two chapters. I'll just edit them when I'm through with the book❤️.

I already know it's a bad idea telling my mom about my weekend plans. I bring it up the next day during breakfast thinking it's a good idea...it’s not. Let's just say I haven't left my room since then.

I patiently wait for my dad to come home from the gym, knowing fully well that he's the only one who will let me go. I don't really see the hangout as a big deal, but trust my mom to turn a mole hill into a mountain.

Immediately I hear the gate open, I sprint down the stairs to talk to my dad. As the door opens, I'm quick to greet him the traditional way, kneeling down.

     "E kaaro sir."

"Fayo, this one that you're kneeling down, what do you want? Won't you let me rest a little at least?" He asks, letting out a hearty laugh. He's the only one who calls me 'Fayo'. My dad looks nothing like a forty-year-old, he can pass for maybe thirty-five if not for his build. He knows me so well to know that I need something. I need to change my tactics.

"Don't mind her," my mom says, walking down the stairs to meet us. I'm guessing Kiiti's probably still asleep but he should be up soon. "How was the gym sweetheart?" She asks, finally meeting us and kissing his cheek.

"Nothing special," he replies, trying to hug her, to which my mom reacts, by wiggling away. He's sweaty all over so I just laugh, watching them behave younger than their ages. He's an MD at an infamous bank and is always busy so, Saturdays are his only time to relax, spend time with us and of course, gym.

"So, what exactly is the problem, Fayo?" He asks, turning to me but I just keep glancing at my mom. It's better to tell him when she's not there.

"I'll tell you when you're through with your shower," I reply, going to tidy up my room and get started on arranging the house.

Once he's through with washing up, he comes to sit in the living room and wait for me. "Daddy—" I start once I sit down on the black leather furniture opposite him.

"Your mom has already told me what you want to say. A visit to Jasmine's, if I'm correct?" He asks, facing me. Of course, she has already told him.

"Yes. We just want to do some homework and catch up. It's not really a hangout or anything," I explain.

"To me, it's fine. Though, I wouldn't like you going out too much since it's your final year and all that, but I trust you. Your mom on the other hand, wants you indoors today. She has a list of chores for you to do and wants you to study too." I don't even process the studying matter. My mind keepa replaying the words 'list of chores' and questions run through my head.

Why was there a list? It was meant to be like three or four.
      How many chores were there?
      What exactly were the chores?

I know you guys probably think I'm overreacting  and lazy, but me and the word 'chores' do not go well together. I come back from my mini-tantrum in my head when my father shakes me.

"Fayokemi, are you okay?" He asks, looking really concerned.

"I'm fine, but daddy what did you mean by list of chores?"

He just laughs and doesn't stop for a couple minutes. "You're the laziest girl I've ever come across. Just at the mention of chores, your body is already going into shutdown mode," he says and continues laughing.
"Just talk to your mom and finish your chores before going," he says, shaking his head and going back to the match replay he was watching before I walked in but I faintly hear him saying something like 'omo yi' before I leave. All I do is pout while going. I'm not that bad.

I find my mom waking Kiiti up upstairs. "Mommy," I call but she just glances at me and walks out of the room. "It's just for two hours maximum. Please." I try pulling the 'puppy face' not sure if it will work.

"Fine. But you'll come back straight after. You still have your chores and reading to do," she says, finally agreeing.

"Thank you mommy, " I say with a smile. It actually worked this time around. I turn to walk back to where I was trying to clean when I suddenly turn around. Even trying was hard but I need to be in her good books. "Mommy, is there actually a list of chores I have to do?" I ask cautiously.

"I don't understand. Is today not Saturday? Don't you do chores on Saturday again?" She asks me with a little glint in her eye. "You'll just do half before you go and do the rest when you come back. I expect you back by three pm o," she says and walks away leaving me standing there on the verge of tears. Which one is half again bayii?

By the time it's 12pm, I've swept, washed the dishes, mopped, ensured there were no cobwebs or dirt whatsoever and emptied the trash. If not for the fact that I had eaten first, I would have fainted. Though my mom helped a little bit with part of the work, I did majority of it while Kiiti just tidied up his room,my parents room and the living room (even though there was nothing to do there). He is so lucky that he's still young. Next week will be his turn.

"Kemi, well done. E ku ise. Now that you're done you can take a shower and leave. There's no half chore. You've done everything," she says. "I just didn't want you leaving everything to me. You're becoming a woman therefore, laziness is not an option," she says and I completely understand. I've actually been leaving everything to her lately.
       Not anymore.

I know she only meansgood but I'm exhausted now and I still need to get to Jasmine's. I hurriedly have my bath and dress up in black skinny jeans and a baggy white t-shirt paired with my plain white sneakers and leave for Maxwell Estate.

The girls are already there and and are waiting for me so that we can start our homework. I quickly apologize for being late and settle down, removing my assignments from my bag but what Jasmine says next makes me freeze.

"I actually thought you wouldn't show up and miss a chance to see your crush," she says with a knowing smirk.

"Ww...what are you talking about?" I stutter out.

"Temi. The Temi we met at ICM before resumption. The same Temi that you wouldn't stop drooling about. He lives right on this street," she says winking at me and taking a sip of the juice in front of her.

How was this chapter? Let me know in the comment section what you think. So our dear Kemi has a crush hmmmm 🧐😂. We'll meet him in the next chapter. I just love Kemi's mom😂. So I don't really have an updating schedule but I think Wednesdays and Saturdays are okay but if I have time we'll have one more.
