"So, do you wanna come back to our place?" Natalia asked. Clem was truthfully still reeling from the day's surprises. To Clem, who'd never had a genuine friend that didn't stab her in the back, Natalia seemed too good to be true.
So good, that it made Clem want to turn on her heel and run.
"Oh! Sure," she agreed, not wanting to go back to her hotel room and left to her own devices.
"I have just one request - we have to get PLASTERED, I go back to London on Sunday and need a going away celebration." Joseph Quinn demanded, causing Clem to giggle.
When they got back to the house - a rather large home with fancy cars parked out front. A Mercedes G Wagon, new Ford Bronco, and Tesla looked spotless in the front driveway, like they belonged there.
Clem was casually sipping her signature drink she made for everyone - she called it the Clementine Crawler, inspired by her name. It was some sort of mixer of gin, orange zest, and peach schnapps. And it hit like a ton of bricks. She was on her final sip of the drink when the back patio door behind her opened up.
"Joe is here!" Natalia jumped up, and Clem turned around to meet eyes with none other than Joe Keery. She couldn't tell if it was the drink she'd downed or the way his brown eyes melted like chocolate when he saw her own - but it definitely wasn't the drink causing her heart to skip a million little beats.
The night went by so easily after Joe showed up, he and Clem found it so simple to talk to each other about anything and everything. She made him feel safe, he made her feel heard.
And Joe couldn't get out of his head, the way her sweet southern accent cooed,
"It was a pleasure meeting you, Joe."
