"Y/n." Someone says.

I open my eyes and see Tate smiling at me.

"Good morning." Tate says.

I smile and she kisses me.

Never been saved, but I've never come closer

"Happy birthday." Tate says.

Another year down and another year older

"It's just another day to me." I say.

"Don't say that. Just get dressed, I have some stuff planned for you." Tate says.

I've never celebrated my birthday. I didn't even know when it was until I got my license. My mom used to just get drunk because she said the day I was born was the worst day of her life.

When I met Tate I realized how much fun I missed out on when I was younger. She the reason life isn't a burden for me anymore, she makes every day of my life enjoyable.

I hug Tate and she smiles.

Tate is the one person who never left or disowned me besides my Uncle Manny. Sometimes I just want to hug her and never let go. I love her more than anything.

The door opens and Tate walks in.

"Hey." I say.

Tate screams and I laugh.

"I thought you were at your AA meeting." Tate says.

"I stopped going." I say.

"Why?" Tate asks.

"I've been clean for over a year, I don't know why I have to keep going." I say.

I used to do drugs and drink a lot.

I met Tate when she accidentally bumped into me. I dropped my coffee and she offered to buy me a knew one. I told her that I would get drunk with the money and she wanted to help.
