I open the door and go inside.

"I'm home." I say shutting the door.

"I'm home." I say.

Tate runs down the stairs and hugs me.

I put my keys on the counter and see a note.

"I don't think things are going as great as they used to. And I feel like it won't work out in the end. We've tried and tried and tried. Why should we keep trying if it won't work?" I read.

I loo at the key taped to the bottom of the page and I sigh.

Leave your keys if you're not coming home

I walk upstairs and go in the bedroom. I see hangers on the floor and drawers open.

You packed your bags full of letting go

"You got clothes all on the floor and drawers open." Tate says.

"This is how I live." I say.

"This may be how you live but this isn't how we're gonna live." Tate says picking up.

You were moving in, now you're moving on

"Fuck." I mumble.

There's no getting used to you being gone

Time Skip

I knock on the door and Alison opens it.

"Hey, Y/n/n." Allison says.

I hug her and she smiles.

"Everything okay?" Allison asks letting me in.

"I just need someone to talk to." I say as we sit on the couch.

"What's up?" Allison asks.

"Tate broke up with me." I say.

"Why?" She asks.

"She doesn't wanna try anymore, she's giving up." I say.

You were down, now you're giving up
Just a false start if you're quitting on us

"All of 2022 we tried to make it work and she promised me that it would work. It's almost like she didn't want me anymore and stopped trying." I say.

Another year, just another lie

"Did she just straight up say she was done? Did she text you?" She asks.

"She left a letter with the house key taped to the bottom of the paper. And she had already packed her everything and left." I say.

Wish you'd call so I could say goodbye

"I'm sorry." She says.

"I just want her back." I say.

Tears fills my eyes and Allison hugs me.
