"Baby....you have to sleep right! or else you would look tired with red eyes for your first day at new school." Misty chastised her overactive son who just couldn't sleep in excitement. This was the first time he got awake again after she lulled him to sleep.

Ray was messing around with his new school bag while stuffing few toys in it to impress his new classmates.
Though he wasn't that successful with his sneakiness, as Misty could hear faint taps of his stumbling around his room, as well as noise from his falling toys.

"Will they like me mumma?" Ray asked clinging onto his mom while looking at her with his bright blue eyes.

"Ofcourse they would. Who wouldn't like my champ! As long as you are well behaved and kind everyone will like you.
Now please close your beautiful eyes, so they can rest hmm." Misty replied weaving his smooth hair inbetween her fingers.

Misty kept holding and mumbling sweet nothings to her son until he finally fell asleep, then closed his door softly and proceeded towards her balcony.

It was a humid and hot night, so she decided to wear a simple large white shirt which she picked out years back from community donation while she was staying in shelter. She was pregnant at that time, so it was quiet useful.

She was on her way back to balcony when her attention got diverted to the wall clock and all Misty could do was tilt her head and huff softly, before plucking it off the wall.

"There should be spare batteries or have to buy them tomorrow" she mumbled proceeding to the little chest drawer beside her bed.

There was bundle of newspapers she bought from hotel which were read and discarded by guest. She wanted to use them under her kitchen shelves.

She held the clock in one hand while shuffling for spare battery through the drawer, when a sharp pain erupted from one of her finger leading her to drop the article on floor.

"Ah..hhsh" Misty immediately stuck her finger in mouth and sucked to relieve the stinging sensation and looked with defeat at the broken clock, though her attention was immediately grabbed by a small black thing attached behind its transparent edge, which seemed alien.

Misty kept sucking her index finger while her other hand reached down for that thing. Low and behold, her fingers finally detached the device along with its magnetic attachment.

She looked around with elevated heartbeat as if still in confusion as to what was happening when her eyes caught an image printed right on top of the days old italian newspaper and almost instantly her fingers lost their grip on the tiny device, before she scrambled away from the broken pieces, stabbing her toe with one of it's sharp edge in the process.

Misty was shaking as her mind went blank with panic before stumbling towards the door of her apartment. She pulled and pushed until she finally ripped it open before racing down the stairs in dishevelled state. Her hair got free from it's loose bun due to all of struggle.

She imagined herself back on the open streets of London where she kept running and running away from all those dark figures trying to hurt her and her bab-..

Baby!!

"Ray-Rayy..Ray!!" Misty mumbled and then yelled to herself before abruptly turning back on her feet inbetween her flight after racing down multiple floors with her bloody feet.

Her movement was so sudden that she lost her footing on the stairs making her body loose balance and ready to take a nasty fall.

Misty's frail body was on free fall for a moment before it got caught mid air and snatched into a solid warm enclosure.
