LONDON

Charles rough hands tried to pry off dry leaves accumulated over the marbled grave as he carried on swiping the surface with spare rags he bought along, till Selma's grave was clean to maximum extent.

He then plucked out most of the grass and useless plants from around her grave, well aware of his son who kept watching his father from a distance.

Charles heart felt heavy with guilt and pain which he couldn't Express while Jared held the same feelings added with anger towards his own father for being so loyal to Reuben family, as to betray his own blood.

It wasn't like they stopped speaking, but Jared stopped calling him Dad since that day.

Despite knowing that this day was too important for both father and son to miss, Jared didn't expect his father to visit the graveyard so early in morning.

His father looked older and tired. He was never among those to upkeep with his looks or color his grey hair afterall.

Jared watched his father sit on ground near his mother's grave with his fingers caressing the structure. He took a deep breath before sitting on the other end of grave, as his assistant kept two packages beside Jared.

Firstly he placed a beautiful bouquet on both of his mother's grave.

Yes, Jared's real mother's grave was right beside his mom Selma's and Charles cleaned her grave too.

Jared then silently proceeded to place a napkin on Selma's grave and finally took out a beautiful cake to place on it. Charles eyes immediately zeroed on the name which was beautifully written on the cake... Happy Birthday Misty.

Charles didn't even get time to react as he saw his son's glare as if daring him to do something to the cake. Jared finally lighted the two candles with two and zero indicating Misty's age.

His mind mocked Jared for spending almost fourteen years after his mom's death by visiting the graveyard on her death anniversary and laying flowers on her grave using the same hands which were involved in her daughter's pain and hurt.
