Stevie and Lindsey went back to the hotel after the today show and slept for a couple more hours, but as the afternoon descended on them, Stevie had changed into a pair of teal palazzo pants and a brown silk blouse which she tucked into them and then they hit the streets of New York. But Lindsey regretted the decision as soon as she pulled him into Tiffany. Being who she was, she was immediately helped by someone and staring at the rings and the prices of them, made his eyes bulge out of his head. Especially the price tag on the one that Stevie was making sex eyes at.

"Can I try it on?" She inquires.

"Is that the one you like?" Lindsey blows out a breath.

Stevie just nods a giant smile on her face. The jewelry attendant pulls it out and Stevie slides it on her finger and gasps, "It's a perfect fit!"

The ring in question was silver. It had 1.6 karats. The middle diamond was raised and framed by five smaller diamonds. On each side of the main diamond was the design of a diamond encrusted bow. To finish it off, the ring band was halfway encrusted with diamonds. The matching band that came with it, was a diamond band with several different diamond shapes. There was a circle, a square, a diamond, and a triangle shaped diamond that alternated as it made its way around the band.

"We'll take it." Stevie decides and immediately pulls out her debit card.

"Congratulations."

After they leave Tiffany, they're sitting a booth for a late lunch when Lindsey just shakes his head.

"What?" Stevie inquires.

"I can't believe you just spent 30,000 dollars on an engagement ring."

"It's pocket change Lindsey. I don't ever have to worry about money. Every five minutes I make about 120 million dollars." When she said that, Lindsey choked on his coke.

"Every five minutes?"

"Every five minutes..."

"I will never have that much money." Lindsey shakes his head, but soon he jolts and hisses. "Did you just kick me under the table?"

"When we get married, you'll have that money."

"I don't know if I want to combine finances." Lindsey shakes his head.

"Why not? That's what married couples do."

"Because if we don't work out, I don't want any of your well earned money."

"Why wouldn't we work out?"

"Steph it's just a hypothetical."

"Can we..."

"Can we what?" Lindsey asks.

"Buy a house." She says quietly.

"Now how would we do that?" Lindsey looks at her.

"Well, I mean...I can buy it, but we can put your name on it too. But I want to pick it out together and I want to pick the furniture out together." Stevie looks at him.

"As long as we're in mine and Stella's school district." Lindsey tells her.

"Really?" She asks.

"Really." He nods.

"The reason I spent 30,000 dollars on an engagement ring is because I really truly want to commit to you." Stevie admits.

"You've made that pretty clear." Lindsey nods.

"And we can get you a silver wedding band. Do you want a big wedding or a small wedding?" Stevie asks.

"Steph, I've done the big wedding. I'd be happy with it just being us and Stella." Lindsey shakes his head.

"That's what I did with Joe, can we compromise. A modest small wedding?" She asks.

"What about your parents?" Lindsey asks.

"What about them."

"I haven't met them."

"I was hoping you were going to meet them at Christmas. But that didn't happen." She looks down sadly.

"Both of mine are dead, so we don't have to worry about my family. You already met Robin and neither of us really talk to our brothers." Lindsey shakes his head.

"How come?"

"At Kristen's funeral, they both tried to get custody of Stella."

"What do you mean?" Stevie cocks her head.

"My brother Greg has a daughter named Cory. My brother Jeff has three daughters, Amy, Laura, and Jamie. They both flat out sad that either of them would be better equipped to raise Stella because their wives were still alive, and a little girl is a lot of work." Lindsey explains. "We got in a big fight about it and I kicked them out and haven't spoken to them since. Robin took my side and the four of us became divided. Jeff and Greg do things without us, and we do things without them."

"That's awful.  Especially because Stella is YOUR baby girl." Stevie insists.

"Exactly," Lindsey agrees.

"Well, I think you'll get along well with my brother and my father. I have an idea..." Stevie trails off.

"What's your idea?" Lindsey sips his drink.

"We have a house warming party when we move into a house together. We can get my family down here, some friends that you have. Robin and Kim...I'm good friends with Robin but I haven't even met Kim." Stevie shakes her head.

"Well first, we have to find a house." Lindsey tells her.

"I don't want nine bedrooms. It's way too big." Stevie tells him.

"Okay, and I have two right now so we should probably get something a little bit bigger." Lindsey nods.

Stevie bites her lip, and then she grabs her purse digging in it for a while. She eventually pulls out a small notebook and a pen and then she rights down 2-9. Lindsey just watches as she meticulously crosses out each number starting with two, then going to nine. three and eight and then four and seven. She circles the five and the six.

"So we get either a five bedroom house or a six bedroom house." Stevie smiles.

"Let's lean towards five." Lindsey tells her.

"Not six?"

"What are we going to do with all the bedrooms?" Lindsey asks.

"Well I mean, I am only 36...though I did," She lowers her voice. "Freeze my eggs...we don't know what's going to happen. Hell we haven't even really had that talk but maybe if we have a baby...so that's three of the bedrooms taken up. We can have a designated guest room so four. We can make one bedroom a music room or studio, and the other can be an office for you." Stevie explains.

"Let's just see what we can find." Lindsey tells her.
