Stevie had her eyes closed and her fingers and toes crossed as her OBGYN ran the transducer over her stomach. She had been home now for about a week. She hadn't told Lindsey or Stella about it, and Karen didn't even know that she had scheduled this appointment because she did it all herself.
"Stevie, you're measuring at fifteen weeks pregnant."
"I'm what?" Stevie sits up lightly staring at the woman with wide brown eyes.
"This is your baby...like it's literally a baby. I can tell you right now that based on your last menstrual and when you had intercourse around that time, that you probably conceived on or around May 26th and you'll probably give birth sometime in February." She explains pointing it out.
"And it's not in my ovary, it's actually in my uterus?" Stevie states.
"Yes, this is a healthy pregnancy. A very healthy pregnancy."
"Really?"
"Really...I would take it easy until the baby is born, because of your age and your history but I don't see any reason that this pregnancy isn't going to go well."
"I'm all healthy."
"You are all healthy. I would start taking a prenatal, but you are all very healthy. I'd like to see you back in four weeks. We can find out what you're having...maybe bring daddy along."
Stevie nods, but keeps her eyes focused on the screen and her doctor chuckles. "Would you like some copies of the picture?"
"Yes please." Stevie mumbles.

School was about to be back in session, Stella started on Monday, Lindsey had started back at the beginning of the month. Tomorrow, Stevie would be taking Stella, and Heidi school clothes shopping. As nervous as she was about it, she had promised her long before she found out she was pregnant so she was mentally preparing herself as she was cooking dinner. Stella had gone to work with Lindsey, and they were picking Heidi up so Stevie was in the clear to go to her appointment, but now she was making the stuffed shells that Heidi and Stella had requested for dinner.
She was finishing chopping up the lettuce for their salad when Heidi, Lindsey, and Stella walked in. She had left her ultrasounds on the table so before Stella even acknowledged her, she grabbed the pictures.
"Stevie what's this?" Stella asks.
"What's what?" Lindsey looks at her and Stella hands him the ultrasound. He scans it and then he looks at Stevie.
"Really?"
"Mhmm...15 weeks." She really didn't have a plan on how she was going to tell them, especially because she knew that Heidi was going to be there and she didn't want to make her uncomfortable.
"What's happening?" Stella inquires.
"Um, it looks like...it looks like you're going to be a big sister." Lindsey gulps.
"Really!" Stella cheers.
"Yeah baby." Stevie nods.
Both Heidi and Stella cheer and Stella immediately attacks Stevie with a hug. "Oh my god I can feel it?"
"Can you?" Stevie asks.
"Yeah, your stomach is a little bit harder and rounder."
"Oh, good to know." Stevie states.
"Congratulations, Stevie!" Heidi smiles.
"Thanks honey,"
"So are you still taking us shopping tomorrow?"
"Of course I am...I promised you didn't I."
"Yeah but I didn't know with like the paparazzi and stuff." Stella shrugs.
"I'm not worried about, I can wear baggy clothes."
"I can't believe you're pregnant." Lindsey shakes his head.
"Well believe it Linds...you're at fault for it."
"Hey...I believe it takes two." He goes over and kisses Stevie.
"Are you happy?" Stevie inquires quietly looking up at him.
"Yeah, yeah I am." He admits pulling her into a hug tightly.

Stevie had opted to wear an oversized blue t-shirt that camouflaged the admittedly small bump she was forming and a pair of skinny jeans. On her feet she wore a pair of tennis shoes and she had her hair pulled back into a ponytail. They were driving to Los Angeles and Stella had the aux cord.
The minute that one of Stevie's old songs came on Stella started filming. It had become a thing between Stevie and Stella, filming moments of their lives and posting them all over social media. Stevie had been doing it for publicity, but now there were a lot more family moments.
"Road Trippin with Classic Stevie!" Stella cheered aiming her camera at Stevie. She turned her head away from the road slightly and laughed seeing the camera. But with that she started singing along to the radio.
When the song ended and Stella stopped filming, she turned to Stevie, "So how are you planning on telling the world."
"I don't know if I want too...I kind of want to take some time off, hide out and rest. If I tell them it'll be in about four weeks when we find out what we're having. My appointment is at 4:30, so you and your dad can come."
"Boy or a Girl?" Heidi asked from the back seat.
"Um, in what context?" Stevie asks.
"Do you want to have a boy or a girl?"
"Heidi, I'd be happy with either. I just want a healthy baby."
"But do you have a feeling?" Stella asks.
"Um, well...I think it's a little girl."
"YES!" Stella cheers as Stevie merges onto her exit.
"What?"
"I want a baby sister."
"You want a baby sister...well, I'll try my best." Stevie chuckles.
"So are you and dad going to push the wedding or move it up?" Stella inquires.
"Honey, we haven't talked about it. After you girls went to bed last night all we talked about was the baby, we didn't talk about the wedding. Why?"
"I just want to be able to call you my mom."
"You can if you want to..." Stevie trails off.
"I can?"
"You don't have to call me mom, but you can refer to me as your mother or your stepmother. I wouldn't necessarily mind it." Stevie shakes her head.
"I don't remember much about my biological mother, and I wanted to thank you for stepping up the way you have. I really appreciate it." Stella looks at her.
Stevie parks the car at the mall and then looks at Stella. "No, I want to thank you...you've changed my life and I love you so much."
With that the two of them wrap each other in a hug and from the backseat, Heidi takes a picture of them.

FanfictionI got the idea for this story, after watching Marry Me, the new Jennifer Lopez movie...It's not the same by any means, but it has a similar concept. I highly recommend the movie. This story takes place in the present day (2010s) but take 1973 Stevie...
