Chapter 20 - We Drown Inside Amazon River (Not Really).

I knew that letting Helly drive was a grave mistake. But, was anyone listening to me?

No!

So here we were, sitting in a car, at such a speed that I couldn’t even see my surroundings.

Everything was a blur. I was pretty sure that the car was 150 km/ hour.

“I hope that none of the license checker police are strolling around.” I whispered to Naya, who was sitting with me in the backseat.

Nelv was not so lucky. He shivered in the front seat.

I could see Helly’s devilish grin.

“ARE YOU PLANNING TO KILL US?” Shouted Naya over the winds.

“YEP, TOTALLY!” Yelled Helly back. I rolled my eyes while Naya looked at her in horror.

Pretty soon, the car was stopped (though we all had to pull the brakes) in front of The Amazon River.

I stared in awe at the river. Have I ever told you that one of my dreams was to visit this great river? I’ve heard so much about it and read about it in my geography book. Finally, my dream was fulfilled.

“Wow,” I murmured.

The river shimmered.

Naya thrust out her hands and began to chant. Lastly, she said, “O, Five Sisters of Incredible Sea, please accept my offering and come to the doorstep of your residence.” Then she threw something silvery into the water.

A few minutes later, a lady rose from the water.

She had black hair with purple highlights. Her eyes were startlingly purple which was impossible.
She wore a black vest and blue jeans.

Naya bowed. Seeing her, we all (except me) bowed.

“Jano.” The girl beamed.

“Hello. I’m Jano, the youngest of the five sisters. By the ways, Welcome to the Incredible Sea.”

First time in my whole lifetime was I inside water. And, being inside water is freakingly cool (pun intended).

Firstly, everything was shimmering. And, the path was littered with rubies, pearls and precious stones. Secondly, my body was not even wet!

“Come.” Jano led us to a big ground-type place.

She waved her hands and the place immediately filled with fishes, mermen, mermaids, merlions seahorses, hippocampi and other sea/water creatures.

She waved her hands again and several throne-type sofas appeared out of thin air.

“Sit. And spill.” I tried my hardest to not roll my eyes.

We all sat there. “Why are you here?”

She looked straight at Naya.

“Uhm...actually,” I started. “We all are here to check on the Water Stone and Earth Stone. I got the news that...”

Suddenly, I remembered a bit of information which I had forgotten to tell Naya.

“...Theodora Spinch replaced the Water Stone and the Earth Stone.” Jano raised an eyebrow.

“Okay. Let’s go, puny mortals.” She muttered.

We all walked where she told us to. After walking for a while, I realized something. Jano called us mortals. Truly, we are mortals. But, now, I was in the form of my mom who was immortal and dead. She was anything but mortal.

“Wait, I’m not a mortal.” I said stopping.

She rolled her eyes.

She thrust out her right hand. Somehow, a sword materialized out of thin air in her hand, like Hela in Thor Ragnarok. Her sword touched my neck.

“You didn’t think that you could fool me, did you? I’m, maybe, the only person who used Penescope the most times. I could identify its smell easily.

I used it when I dated Jack. His sister, Jacques warned me. But I was in love. And a person can go to any limits when he/she is in love.

So I took the help of Penescope and changed into Theodora Spinch, his daughter with the goddess Karina.

I almost laughed when I heard her saying, ‘Why do Jack and Theo always stay together?’.

We broke up when I saw him dating another woman named Krista Krauss. I was heartbroken and angry so I cursed her that Jack’s daughter with her will never regard Krista as her mom. Which she did. Arya Krauss is my favourite person in the world. I love that sass queen.

Anyways, so I know that you all are mortals. Now, reveal your identity.”

“Um...actually, we don’t know how to do that.” Said Helly.

“Uh. The water of the Fountain of Heaven would do.” She thrust out her hand and a bowl filled with glowing, shimmering and silvery-transparent water.

“C’mon, have a sip. It’s really yummy. Just one gulp, though. Otherwise, you’ll burn away because it’s meant for the gods. Magicians inherited the magical blood from the goddess of magic. So, a small fraction of godly blood runs in the veins of all the magicians.”

Nelv took the first gulp.

“Man, it’s the best thing I’ve ever tasted. It tasted like...“ He faltered.

He moved closer to me and whispered, "Just like Nectar."

I grinned.

Helly took the bowl and drank.

“Yum. Let’s keep a bottle of this stuff.”

“It’s taste changes. It generally tastes like the best thing you’ve ever imagined.”

I took the bowl from Helly.

I drank it and a warming sensation filled my body. I felt like I’d tasted the best thing ever.

It tasted ten times better than Sprite, which was my favourite drink. It also tasted lemonade at the same time.

“I agree with Helly.” I said.

Then, I whispered into Nelv’s ear.

"Nectar indeed."

“So, let’s go.” Jano said.

After walking for a billion years, we finally reached an elegant chamber made from water. It was really beautiful.

It was decorated with elements (NOT life elements!) like gold, silver, platinum and more. It was also decorated with various pearls found undersea. It had no entrance, or so it seemed.

Jano waved her hand——again——and the water cleared to form a door. She clicked her fingers and the door clicked open.

Inside, it was dim. The only sources of light were two bulbs. No, they were definitely two Elemental Stones. They were luminous. One was emitting a bluish glow while the other was emitting a greenish glow.

“So, are they real? Has the daughter of my ex replaced it?”

“Wait, isn’t Theodora the daughter of the Dark Lord?” I blurted.

She scoffed.

“Are you kidding me? She is the daughter of the Dark Lord. Don’t you know that they are the same person? Jack is the Dark Lord. The dark lord is Jack?”
