Chapter 24 - A Maniacal Girl Shoots Me In The Calf. (Please Don't Tell Nelv)

"So," She said, pressing the knife on my throat. My calf ached as blood flowed from there.

A bullet may not hurt, but it doesn't help the platelets to work either.

"Should I hand you over to Axon or should I free you?" She asked in a dry tone.

"And may I ask who decided to make her lovely self come here and threaten us in the name of a bloody fool called Axon?" I said.

She applied pressure to the knife on my throat. I growled in pain as the blade cut through my skin; not deep enough to kill me, but deep enough to draw blood.

"Keep your sassiness to yourself, girl. And, respect Axon a bit more than you do. By the ways, I'm quite surprised that you don't know me. I'm quite famous among the magicians and monsters. After all, I am the only girl who stays with Zeldras, who hunts with Zeldras, who fights with Zeldras.

I'm Tethra. Not at all pleased to meet you." Her tone remained emotionless.

I cracked a smile. I was trying to keep the pain out of my smile but I didn't succeed.

We didn't have much time to train. But, we were pre-trained by Ruby when we were mere children. We had practised many times and had cut each other many times, but still, we weren't immune to wounds.

"Tethra...Drikory. Nice to meet you, after all."

Both Tethra's and Nelv's gaze snapped upon me.

"Diane..." Nelv trailed off.

"How. Do. You. Know. MY. LAST NAME?!!!" Thundered Tethra.

"Magikipedia." I replied simply.

She took a deep breath and glared at me.

"Now, you should really give me a reason to not kill you." She whispered with a murderous glare decorating her face.

"I could take you to your brother." If she didn't have even 1% of her attention on me, then she definitely did now.

"What do you mean by that?" She spoke.

"I mean, that I know your 'so-called' brother."

"You're lying." She said her voice raw with emotion.

"He's most likely to be dead. If not, then he's leading the life of a freaking prisoner." She yelled.

Nelv flinched.

"Diane..." Naya warned me.

"He's alive, flesh and bone. He's near, but I am sure that you wouldn't be able to recognise him." I said, almost challenging her.

She clenched her jaw and her grip around her gun tightened.

"Well, since you're not too eager to meet him, then kill us. We are totally ready." I said.

"Miss Tethra, doth not listen to them. Dark Lord wants them." Someone said.

I jumped.

It was a Zeldra.

"Miko, Nila, go get me a banana. Fast." Tethra ordered, annoyed.

Miko and Nila flinched. They scurried away to get her a banana.

"I will find my brother. I don't need someone to do that for me. Now give me a reason to free you."

I rolled my eyes.
