“When will we reach?” I asked, feeling exhausted.
“I guess, till sunset.”
“Can we just take a short nap? Because if I walk another metre, then my limbs would surely fall off.” Helly complained.
Naya rolled her eyes and turned towards the sun. It was slowly moving towards the west.
Through its position, I knew that there was approximately an hour before the sun started setting.
“Then, I must say, that we’d reach after sunset.” Naya said.
I rolled my eyes.
“I think that we should rest. Guys, let’s take a short, sweet nap.” I announced.
“What about our safety?”
“I’ll take watch. Rest of you, sleep.” I ordered.
No one protested.
Everyone sat against a huge rock and tried to sleep.
Having nothing to do, I sharpened my both knives.
After some time, my gut said that something was wrong.
I looked around, but nothing looked out of place. But, I've read many novels and they all said the same thing, ‘Never ignore your gut feeling.’ So I stood up and wandered around.
“Diane,” Someone called and I almost jumped out of my skin.
I turned around and saw that Helly and Naya were awake.
“Guys, you scared me to death. Please don’t do that again.” I chuckled nervously.
“Diane...” Helly trailed off, frowning.
“Something doesn’t feel right.” Helly said.
And her statement was proved right as a loud growl interrupted us.
We all jumped and looked around. Till now, Nelv was awake too.
We took out our weapons and readied them. But we were interrupted by a loud shriek of laughter.
We all turned around to see a blonde 7-year-old girl.
“You got scared by my imitation! That is freaking hilarious.” She laughed again and I rolled my eyes.
“Who are you?” Helly asked cautiously.
“Woah. You have green hair. Did you dye your hair? I'm Beth. Beth Willis.”
Helly frowned.
“I definitely did not dye my hair! I was born with green hair!” She said incredulously.
“Nelv. I'm Nelv Drikory.” Nelv spoke in a low voice, ignoring us.
Beth smiled.
“What about you, green-freak-di?” Helly’s frown deepened.
“Helly Sharma.”
“Diane Cheddar.”
“Naya Riviere.”
“Why are all you here?” Beth asked, curiosity dripping from her tone.
“We are here to find a certain person named Arya Krauss.”
“Arya di? Oh, she is in her cell. She hates it there. To cheer her up, I always play with her with my toys. But it seems like, she wants something else.”
