Every day I expected that I would feel better, that I would get used to the new situation. But so far that was not the case. Not even after the 6 weeks that I was now back home. And the fact that I was living with my parents again didn't make things any better.

But it was just the most sensible thing to do at the moment. Because organizing my new, old life took a bit of time. First of all I needed a job, that wasn't really a problem and I even had a few options, but something kept me from agreeing to a new employer. It was stupid, I knew that. In addition, I still hadn't found an apartment, because the real estate market was more than strained lately. The fact that the container with my belongings had not yet arrived did not help my mood one bit.

So I made it my business to take care of the house and garden and of course the animals while my parents were at work. It was a good distraction from my thoughts. Even though I had to admit that most of the time it didn't work. I actually thought about Roman all the time.

In the first weeks we tried to stay in contact. But that turned out to be quite difficult. I'm not going to lie, things between us were pretty tense. With the time difference and his crazy work schedule, it was anything but easy. And in the last week or so, I hadn't had any luck getting a hold of him. It was frustrating, but what could I do?

With a tired sigh, I folded the last towels and stacked them in the linen closet before going outside to check the mail. I had nothing better to do, because I had already done everything else. And unfortunately it was still too early to crawl into my bed.

I stepped out the door and unlocked the mailbox only to find that it was empty. I closed it again and was just about to go back into the house when I noticed how someone got out of a car that had just stopped at the curb. However, I thought nothing of it, because it was not uncommon that people parked here in the street.

But when I was almost back in the house, I heard a familiar voice and froze on the spot. I had definitely only imagined that. A very vivid torture from my subconscious.

"Hey, DJ." said this deep, masculine voice I would recognize anywhere.

Slowly, I spun around. This was a really good mirage. I could have sworn it was real. But that was not possible. My brain was playing tricks on me.

"Aren't you going to greet me, baby girl?" the voice now wanted to know.

"Roman?" I asked, confused.

"Yes, it's really me!" he chuckled, probably because of my dumbfounded face.

"Roman!" I squeaked and then ran into his arms as I suddenly realized he wasn't an illusion. That he was really and truly standing in front of me.

"Now, that's much better!" he rasped in my ear as he held me tightly while I hooked my legs around his waist.

My arms wrapped around his neck as firmly as I could as I inhaled as deeply as I could. He was really here. Tears ran down my cheeks once again, only this time they were tears of joy.

I pulled back a bit so I could look into his face. I almost melted at the sight of his smile. Roman radiated such happiness and warmth that I immediately felt so much better. Then I grabbed his chin and pulled him to me. I just had to kiss him. Everything else could wait at that moment. I had missed him so much. Now I realized all the more how in love I really was with this man.

Then we rested our foreheads against each other to soak up the moment.

"I missed you, baby girl." he whispered.

"I missed you more. I should be mad at you for not being available all week. But I'm too happy right now." I replied softly as I snuggled up to him.

"I'm sorry, DJ. I promise I have a very good reason for that. Can we maybe go inside?" said Roman as he carefully set me on my feet.

I took him by the hand and led him first into the house and then out to the deck, since it was such a beautiful day. Only then did I notice that he was holding a large envelope in his hand. I swallowed, because I suspected to know what it must be.

Roman put the envelope on the table and immediately pulled me back into his strong arms making me forget my worries.

"How are you?" he wanted to know.

"Right now or in general? Right now I'm happy to see you. Otherwise it could be better. But at this moment I think that there can be only one reason for which you are here," I replied and then detached myself from him.

"You're right. I needed you to sign this," he explained to me.

I had expected that. Because honestly, there was no reason for us to stay married any longer. After all, our plan had failed. With slightly trembling hands I pulled the papers out of the envelope and began to read. But it was not what I had expected.

"But... these are... these are not divorce papers..." I stammered in surprise.

"Of course not! This is your new employment contract as a media designer and advertising consultant in the WWE. I want you to come home, DJ! I want my wife back!" Roman said and wrapped his arms around me from behind before pressing a kiss to my temple.
