Zoey's Townhouse, Bucktown Chicago
It didn't take long for Kelly's Mustang to pull up outside his baby sister's townhouse. "I'll be right ba-" before Zoey could finish her sentence Kelly was already out of the car and following her up the path to the front door.
The blonde anxiously opened the door hoping Jack wouldn't start another fight, especially with Kelly here. Luckily Jack wasn't home when they arrived to gather Zoey's duffle bag, gun and badge before she walked out of the house silently.
Zoey locked the house as her older brother and she walked over to the car climbing inside. Kelly started the car and they took off towards the airport in silence. "You know you can talk to me right Zo?" Kelly said as his classic Mustang pulled up to the car pool lane of O'Hare. "I know, well I gotta get going. People to save and all" Zoey says quickly hugging her brother before hopping out of the car with her belonging ignoring the pain she felt in her abdomen.
O'Hare International Airport, Chicago
It didn't take Zoey long to get through security and board a flight out to Virginia. The entire trip the blonde listened to music while her thoughts wondered about what the hell she would do about Jack. When did that video even get taken? She asked herself trying to remember the last time she properly partied. It must have been years ago, she had no time now with work.
Zoey sighed in defeat wishing she had Reid's eidetic memory so she could find a way out of this shitshow that unravelled in front of her. The flight landed sooner than she expected probably mostly due to the fact that she was so lost in thought. The blonde departed into the airport stopping by one of the many stores and picking up foundation along with concealer before heading towards the parking garage to her candy apple red Camaro.
The blonde climbed into her car instantly coating her throat that was now darkly bruised in concealer and foundation until the bruising could hardly be noticed. Zoey sighed in defeat knowing that one of the many profilers she worked with would still probably notice some of the bruising even if it was very faint; it was their job to notice little details like that. The blonde looked around the car finding a light coral scarf in the backseat. She quickly threw it on before starting her car and taking off towards the large familiar federal building.
Quantico Virginia
Lexy's Camaro pulled into the parking garage of the large federal building and the blonde pulled up backing her car in next to Reid's classic Volvo P130. With a shaky breath, the blonde looked over her reflection one last time before exiting her car, Locking the doors and walking towards the elevator using her key card to get in.
The metal doors slowly slide open and Zoey walked in pressing the BAU's floor and scanning her card again before the doors shut and the small box began moving upwards. After a few seconds, the elevator chimed and the doors slid open allowing the blonde to exit out into the large open hall in front of a set of double glass doors.
Zoey lightly jogged through the glass doors through the large office space dropping her duffle bag on her desk before continuing to jog up the stairs and into the round table room. The blonde changed her pace from a jog to a fast walk, rushing to her seat while everyone watched the agent take her seat next to Morgan and Prentiss. Zoey took a deep breath a bit winded as JJ set a file in front of her with a small smile. "Sorry," Zoey says looking at Hotch regarding her running in late. The older dark-haired man nodded before turning his attention to Garcia who stood in the front of the room in front of a screen.
"A year ago, victims and their vehicles disappeared from Washington state," JJ said starting to brief the team on the case from her seat at the round table. "They were found 200 miles away in the remote wood of Idaho." she continued. "Courtney Jacobs, 24 and Shane Everett, 25," JJ said as Garcia pulled photos of the two people laying dead on the screen with large holes in their torsos. "Autopsy revealed similar entry and exit wounds through the chest," JJ said. "Ballistics?" Morgan asks curiously taking a sip of his coffee, "No Bullets were found," JJ said confusing everyone more. "It looks like they were out there for a long time before they were killed," Prentiss says observing the crime scene photos. "At least 6 or 7 days," JJ replied confirming to the agent her observation was correct. "Well, What happened in that week?" It was Severide that finally spoke. "I don't wanna know," Garcia was the first to reply to the agent's questions.
"Look at the way their dressed, they didn't voluntarily go into the woods like that," Reid said reviewing the crime scene photos in his folder. "Yeah, neither did this man," JJ replies before pulling up another photo of a different man laying dead with the same emmo as the other two victims. "Found yesterday with similar wounds. There's still no ID" JJ says looking at the team. "Okay so I'm gonna look for missing persons in Washington," Garcia said. "Look everywhere. We don't know where this victim came from, We only know where he ended up" Hotch replied to Garcia who nodded before grabbing her folder and exiting the room; heading to her office to track down this John Does ID.
"Hunts both male and females." Reid spoke thinking, "Victims were found with their clothes on, no degradation, no experimentation. It doesn't look like he's interested in either" Hotch spoke reviewing the file. "A serial killer with no sexual preference?" Severide asked trying not to scoff. "That'd be a first," Reid replied looking toward the blonde. "Broken Nose and Barks embedded in his face. Looks like he ran into a tree?" Hotch guessed looking at the most recent victim. "Now how do you miss a huge tree?" Morgan retorts. "Too busy looking behind you," Severide said with a sigh looking at the crime scene and understanding this victim's pain, especially with the events that unfolded with Jack while she was Home.
"None of these are defensive wounds," Reid said looking over the photos himself. "Courtney Jacobs' hands are torn up," Prentiss said joining in. "Shane Everett only has 1 shoe on. It's like he ran out of the other one." Morgan said adding his observations. "They sustained numerous injuries and just kept going," Hotch spoke. "Only 1 thing you run that hard for. Your life" Rossi said. "Okay everyone wheels up in 20" Hotch spoke dismissing everyone to go get their thing and meet on the BAU's Jet.
Zoey stood up walking out of the room with the file not really in the mood to talk. The blonde walked down the stairs grabbing her bag instantly off her desk before exiting the office. Heading to her car, "Severide, wait up" Morgan called behind her jogging to catch up to his partner. "Wanna head over together I already have my stuff," he says sending her that signature smile he does that makes you just wanna smile. However today the blonde sent him a small smile that faltered before she nodded for him to get in without a word.
