Goodbye, Green Goblin :)

Future Peters POV

We found the warehouse the Green Goblin was hiding out at pretty easily. Or at least, we thought we did. We searched the entirety of it and no one found a trace.

"He has to be here." Future Peter exclaimed in frustration.

"Calm down. We'll find." Tony assured him.

Future Peter paused as he heard a noise. A noise that was coming from underneath them. He frowned in confusion. His spidey sense was going crazy so he started walking around until his spidey sense was even stronger and searched for a button or lever. He figured there probably was an underground lair that the Green Goblin was in. He found a small red button that he would have never seen had he not been searching for it. He put his finger above it and turned to look for the others.

"Hey, guys, I think I-" His finger shifted too close and he pressed the button.

A small square of the floor opened up and he fell. The floor closed up again, leaving everyone to wonder what was going on.

"Peter?" Tony called.

But Peter was gone.

Meanwhile

Future Peter fell about twenty feet before he hit the underground floor. He jumped to his feet and looked around.

"Ah, Peter, how nice of you to join us." The Green Goblin said.

"What is this place?" He demanded.

"It's just a little something I came across in the future and luckily, it was still here." Green Goblin shrugged.

"What are you even doing down here?" Peter frowned. 

"Waiting for you. And now that you're here, well let's just say it won't be pleasant for you." The Green Goblin smiled cruelly.

"What are you talking about? You already failed to kill me once. And you're down here too don't forget." Peter reminded him.

"Am I though?" The Green Goblin looked at him tauntingly.

Future Peter frowned and poked him. But instead of poking him, his finger just fell through the air.

"What the-? A hologram?" Peter asked.

"Indeed. But don't worry, I'm still close enough to watch you die." He said pleasantly.

"And how are you going to kill me?" Peter mocked. "You've had multiple opportunities and you took none of them.

The Green Goblin ignored his mocking.

"With fire." He said calmly and his hologram flickered away.

Peter had just processed that when a something, a bomb probably, blew up and everything started to catch fire.

"Shit." He cursed.

He webbed the ceiling and tried to wedge the trapdoor open.

"Hey!" He yelled. "Can anybody hear me? If you can, press the red button!" 

He waited for a response but got none.

"Nononono." He muttered then raised his voice again. "Hello? Is anyone there?!"

The fire had now engulfed the whole floor and the smoke was coming up thickly. He coughed and banged on the door.

"HELP!" He yelled.

But no response ever came.

Tony's POV

"Hey, has anyone seen the future Peter?" Tony asked curiously, searching through a box.

"He said something earlier but I haven't seen him after that." Clint said.

"Welcome to the entertainment center. Today's entertainment will be a burning building with Peter Parker as the main character." The Green Goblins voice echoed around the room. 

Everyone was now on high alert and was looking around for the Green Goblin warily. 

But he was nowhere to be seen.

"Where are you?" Tony shouted.

"Everywhere. Not let's make you don't go anywhere shall we? I don't want you ruining my fun." The Green Goblin said gleefully.

There was a whirring mechanical sound and before he could move, Tony's leg was chained to the ground. He saw the same thing had happened to everyone else and that's when he realized, Nat wasn't here.

'Where'd she go?' He thought.

A screen came down from the ceiling and turned on. The view was hazy but they could all make out Peter hanging on to the roof banging on the ceiling. The audio turned on and they could hear Peter screaming for help. Tony yanked against his chain with all his strength. He was furious that the Green Goblin had the audacity to do this.

"Let him out!" He screamed.

"No can do, I'm afraid." The Green Goblin chuckled. 

"You are a sick bastard!" Past Peter yelled.

Even Steve let him get away with cursing this one time. They all watched in horror as Future Peter started to slip.

"Nononono." He kept muttering. 

His eyelids looked like they were starting to droop and everyone yelled for him to not fall asleep even though he couldn't hear them.

"Help, please." Future Peter croaked out.

Tony's heart broke. He was completely useless. And he'd been so dumb leading them all into a trap. This was all his fault. He kept scratching and yanking at his chain desperately.

"Hold on, Peter!" They heard a yell on the tv screen. 

They all looked up and saw Nat hanging on to the ceiling with one of Clint's arrows.

"When did she snatch that?" Clint asked, confused.

"Not the time Clint." Several people said at once.

"How did she get there?" The Green Goblin sounded angry. "She will not ruin my plans."

Then he appeared on screen too. He and Nat started fighting with him having the upper hand because of his board. Nat quickly changed the situation though and with the blink of an eye, she had him hanging off the board as she flew it over to catch Peter. The Green Goblin grabbed her foot and she kicked him off of her which sent him falling into the fire. All the avengers cheered as she looked after him with a blank expression. She eventually decided it didn't matter and smashed through the spot peter had been at with the board. This time they heard it off the tv.

"Nat!" Everyone cheered.

"Hey guys. Miss me?" She smirked.

She laid Peter down on the ground and pulled a remote out of her pocket. She pressed a button and all of the chains opened, Tony didn't waste a second and raced over to Future Peter and hugged him.

"I'm so sorry." He repeated over and over.

"Tony, we need to go." Pepper said gently.

He nodded numbly and called his suit over. He got in his suit and picked up Peter.

And together, they flew back to the tower. And while Peter was unconscious and being treated, Tony got him another MIT scholarship to apologize. He sighed in relief as he walked into Peter's room. Peter was safe now, both of them. And to him, that was all that mattered.
