❝Lift your head (Y/N), ❞ he said smoothly.
You looked up to see him staring down at you with a slight smirk.
❝Are you sure you're not starting something you can't finish?❞

Kibutsuji slowly began to get better. His high fever began to fade, his complexion began to become more healthy. He found that he was able to move around in general amounts without pain and discomfort again. It seemed the door of life was opening up to him again.
It was a miracle in his eyes, he felt that just a few days ago death had been right in front of him but now it was moving away from him at a shocking rate.
Inside him he was beginning to experience a wholeness he hadn't quite felt before. Kibutsuji had never truly been healthy but now he felt as if he was becoming it. His years and years of suffering were coming to an end.
Currently, Kibutsuji was in a forest. It was a forest full of green, tall trees towering on both sides of a dirt pathway with the sunlight making it through the heavy branches. There were birds all around him, chirping and scurrying about.
He looked up above him taking in the view of the clear blue sky, the general peace he felt calming him. He wanted to move away from being indoors, using his time to be in places he'd never gotten much time to stay in.
As he walked through the forest, he relaxed at the sound of the shuffling grass against his feet. His eyes wandered from side to side looking around at the atmosphere around him as his black cloak flurried in the wind. Kibutsuji was enjoying his quiet walk when suddenly he spotted something that caused him to stop in his tracks.
There was a woman in the forest, wearing a soft pink dress with a basket in her hands.
Kibutsuji couldn't see the woman's face but suspected the woman was you. His suspicion was soon confirmed as he saw Nao standing beside you.
Suddenly, Nao spotted him. Nao bowed her head to which Kibutsuji responded with a curt nod, before she turned her head to face you.
Kibutsuji watched from afar with a slight frown. He now seemed to connect the dots. Your basket was filled with what looked like herbs.
Was this how you made his medicine? You were still working this hard for him?
He promised himself once he got better he'd treat you like a queen. This would not do.
"M'lady, the master is here."
You heard her words but didn't look in her direction, your eyes stayed focused on the herbs in front of you, "Muzan is resting right now. You must be mistaken."
"No m'lady he really is there," Nao said, "look," she said nudging her head.
You turned around at once. Your eyes looked around trying to see where he was. They wandered a bit before settling and upon your eyes meeting his, they widened.
"Muzan?"
You immediately dropped your basket.
Muzan watched from afar as you ran towards him. His heart felt warm just at the sight of you and he unconsciously smiled softly extending his arms so you could fit between them.
When you collided, he felt your head against his chest, you gripped his shoulder as you began to tear up against him and Muzan did not feel any ounce of annoyance but instead, relief.
"(Y/N)-,"
"You can walk again."
He gave a nod.
"You didn't tell me."
Muzan simply stood there, looking at you as tears began to well in your eyes.
"You can walk again," you whispered softly looking up at him.
Muzan sighed as he watched tears begin to stream down your cheeks.
"I'm sorry," you apologized,"I'm crying again, aren't I?"
Muzan finally decided to wipe away your rough tears, slowly stepping back as his hands made their way to your face, "Must you cry, Lily?"
He cupped your cheeks leaning closer to give you a soft kiss. He pulled away swiftly before he gave a nod, "(Y/N), you've done well."
A sense of relief hit you as tears ran down your cheeks and you held Kibutsuji close to you. He sighed yet again before holding you back, his hand patting your back as you calmed in his embrace.
"I'm fine, really."
"You are?"
"I am Lily, I promise."
...
"Are you sure?"
"I'm positive."
You gave him a soft kiss before going back to lying your head against his chest, and Kibutsuji wrapped his arms around you as the two of you stood in the vibrant forest.
