It didn't take long for Kibutsuji to find you.
In fact, it only took about two weeks.
He was awfully efficient when he did things himself but being pulled in all different directions, he needed people to fill the gaps.
He watched you from the top of a rooftop as you walked silently through a pathway. You were a working woman now. It seemed you had adjusted to life without him. It figured, it had been two years, but even he was impressed with how you blended in with humans.
The whole realization was strange. You were strange.
He found out where you lived and wasted no time barging into your living quarters and taking a seat in one of the chairs in the corner.
He didn't bother asking permission. He didn't need to. In his mind, you belonged to him and what was yours was also his. He had been watching you for three nights now and his patience was at its limit.

You made it home from your shift at work into your small living quarters. You worked at a tea shop. You made the most delightful teas and served customers day in and day out.
Adjusting to modern life had been hard, but you had managed to do it because you wanted to survive. The people these days were much blunter than they had been in the past, the clothes a little more revealing too.
Everything was strange, not necessarily bad, just strange.
You never quite figured out how you had gotten here in the first place. You had woken up in an isolated tower one day and were consumed with shock. You figured that you had been dreaming but in fact, you weren't and it didn't take long for you to realize the Heian period was a thing of the past.
You were alone. Everyone and everything you knew was gone. It would be a lie to say you didn't miss it, your home, the people in it, Nao, your ladies-in-waiting, even your father. You missed everything. Especially your husband. You missed Kibutsuji.
Not a day went by without you thinking of him.
You gave a heavy sigh before deciding to suck it up.
You were about to go drink some tea when out of the corner of your eye, you caught a glimpse of something glowing in the dark.
You jumped almost falling over.
What was that?
No.
Who was that?
It was a man.
The darkness covered his face and only his eyes were visible to you.
There was a random man in your home and he was staring at you. His eyes were glowing violently in the dark as he looked at you.
He sat in the corner of your small living quarters on a chair comfortably. He had one leg crossed over the other and he wore an all-white suit with his hands folded in his lap. You stumbled a bit, your eyes widening in fear.
He didn't speak and so you just stood there silently.
Your mind wandered in thoughts as your hands began to shake. He stayed quiet still not saying a word.
Your heart rushed as you analyzed the situation. You didn't know what to do. How were you supposed to react to a situation like this?
The man spoke, "Are you that afraid of me?"
Your heart stopped for a moment.
What?
That voice.
You bit your lip.
You were imagining it.
There was no way it was actually him.
It sounded like...no...there was no way.
He got up slowly as he began to approach you the moonlight illuminating his body. The darkness covered his face as he inched closer and closer.
You stumbled a bit and backed up until you were against the wall. It wasn't until he stood in front of you that you could see his face.
Your fear dissolved instantly.
Your bottom lip quivered a bit as you a feeling of relief fell over you.
"Muzan!"
He watched as you pounced on to him, wrapping your arms around him and hugging him around his torso.
Many things ran through his mind.
At the forefront, one,
You didn't ask permission to touch him.
Secondly,
he could not remember the last time he had been touched so intimately. He felt he would actually revile in disgust if one of his demons had even thought to touch him but you, you caused a strange flurry of emotions to enter him, emotions of nostalgia, wanting and trust.
His hands wrapped around you as he brought you closer to his chest and you buried your face in it. Soon enough he could hear soft whimpers from his shirt.
He ushered you to stop crying, "Stop your tears (Y/N). It displeases me seeing you cry."
You looked up at him and wiped your tears gently before nodding.
"I know. I know you hate tears."
His eyebrow rose.
"I was just so elated....to see you again that is," you smiled a bit looking up at him from his chest with eyes that sent him on a ride.
He could see how fond you were of him. He could see how much you loved him; those familiar eyes looking into his soul stirred something in him the likes of which he'd forgotten. Love. It was an emotion he'd forgotten he could feel.
Kibutsuji stared at you in silence for a moment before he pecked your lips. You blushed in response and seeing the familiar red cheeks made his lips curl upwards.
"Come," he said simply extending his hand to you.
You took it immediately excited to feel the warmth of his skin and exhaling gently when he interlocked your fingers.
Kibutsuji began to walk and you followed him.
You didn't know where he was taking you but you accompanied him anyway.
He spoke, "You're going to come live at my manor."
...
"You want me to just come with you and leave everything."
"Exactly."
...
"Okay."
Your feet continued at his straightforward words and you hurried to make it out of your living quarters, which, you never saw again after that day.
