Chapter 7:Happiness~

It was school day. They had English test. Soobin looked at his number in despair. He couldn't get the highest marks just by one mark. Numbers doesn't matter much to him. But it matters so much to his father. He looked at two troubled kids sitting not far from him. Alison and Alec. Two infamous best friends for being the troublemakers. But no one can't deny that they they got big brain. They are naturally smart. Always getting highest marks. Which made Soobin hate them even through they did nothing wrong to him. He just can't help but hate them. Soobin got home. He thought he could avoid his father. But boy he was wrong. He saw his father sitting on the couch. His eyes searched for his mother. But looks like she wasn't home. He felt nervousness taking over his body. He quietly walks toward his room.

Mr.Choi: Soobin
Soobin: Y-yes dad.
Mr.Choi: I heard you had a test today. Let me see your test paper.
Soobin: Y-yes dad.

Soobin hands out his test paper from his bag to his father. He could feel his father's anger.

Mr.Choi: Why didn't you get full marks??
Soobin: But I did get the perfect mark-
Mr.Choi: Liar. You didn't even get the highest marks. You thought you could fool me? I talked with your teacher. If students like those two can get the highest marks then why can't you?
Soobin: I am sorry dad. Please forgive me. I will try harder next time.

Soobin said while bowing to his father.

Mr.Choi: There's no next time.

The next thing Soobin felt was a hard slap and a beating with wood stick from his father. It would always happen when Soobin can't satisfy his father. That's why he hated home. Cause it wasn't home for him. There was no warmth, no love. It was like a prison to him.

Mr.Choi: Hope you learned a lesson. Now go and study for your next exam so I don't have to repeat it again. Gosh it's so tiring for me.

Soobin stays silent. He goes to his room. Some teardrops fall down in silence. He thinks oneday he will leave this house. He will be happy.

Soobin: I will be happy.

Happiness ~
People have different definition for it. We all run for happiness. But how many people really gets it?

The next day-

Today they had Math test. Soobin smiled while looking at his marks. He got full marks. It means a quiet day at home. He scans his eyes around the room. His eyes stop at certain someone. His rival. Alison failed the test. But there was no guilt in her face. She just looked at her paper with her emotionless eyes.

Alison went to her room in hurry looking her door. Her mother was so busy with her younger sister that she didn't even ask how her day was. Well it's normal for her. She put down the curtains. The atmosphere was too dark to see anything. Alison opened the lock of one of her drawers and took some pills out. She looked at them like a it was her prey. She took them one by one with some water. Soon she felt sleepy. She forgot all the bad feelings and memories for a moment. It was happiness for her.
It was time for dinner. Her mother called her continously. But she ignored it and kept sleeping. The calling finally stopped.
