Chapter 20:Life Is Better When It's Bitter

The next day in school:

Taehyun: I am so sorry hyung for troubling you.
Beomgyu: It's okay. But you have to take care of yourself. Don't drink too much. Okay? For fuck's sake you are underage.
Taehyun: So are you.
Beomgyu: Let's don't go there. I am hungry. Let's go to cafeteria.

Beomgyu grabs Taehyun's wrist and dashes toward the cafeteria.

Beomgyu: Hey Alison and Kai.
Alison: Hey.
Taehyun: Why weren't you answering any of my texts,young lady?
Alison: I was busy?

Huening Kai: She didn't eat anything the whole day. Make sure to feed her something. Annyeong.

Huening Kai cutely waves and quickly gets out of the sight.

Taehyun:Sigh. You are ignoring your friends, skipping meals. What's wrong? At least tell your best friend.
Alison: Do you tell me everything that I need to tell you my every single thoughts?
Taehyun: Now eat before you get sick.
Alison: But I don't want to.
Taehyun: I won't take no for an answer. EAT.
Beomgyu: No need to get angry. Just listen to your friend, Ali.
Alison: Damn it. You guys sound like my parents.

At Blue Hour Cafe-

Waitress: What would you like to order?
Jake: What's good?
Waitress: I would recommend Sugar Rush Ride. It's our signature desert.
Jake: I will take it.
Waitress: What about you,sir?
Heesung: Ummmm, I will take a Blue Orangeade.
Waitress: I will be back with your order.
Jake: Sooooo?
Heesung: So what? Explain. Your sudden disappearance.
Jake: I will straight go to the story. Remember the war that the Jeon clan started against all the vampire clans? The Lee and the Shim clan were the only clan that survived. The Lee clan and the Jeon clan made a peace agreement where the Jeons got benefited the most.
Heesung: They promised to not to kill any Lee.
Jake: But for the Shim clan, it was opposite. They stood straight to their words. So they started to kill the Shims.
Heesung: That's why I wanted us to marry as soon as possible. So that you would become a Lee and we would be safe.
Jake: But my father thought I was being selfish. You could have only protected me, not my family.
Heesung: I could have easily pulled some strings and protect your family along with you.
Jake: I know that you could have. But my father brainwashed me. He made me think that being with you would be a big mistake. You know that how much I love my family.

Jake: He convinced me to marry a girl from the Jeon clan. Her family was one of the noble family. No one would go against them.

Jake: My ex-wife. We divorced when Heeyeon was five. Ella reunited with her soulmate. She lost her immortality. She was a good mother though. She was involved in Heeyeon's life. When Heeyeon was 12,Ella died in car accident. I wanted to look for you. But I was too afraid. You know that i always loved music. So I followed my passion and became a well-known musician.
Heesung: That explains the crowd.
Jake: You still don't keep up with the recent world updates?
Heesung: I don't need to.
Jake: What do you do now?
Heesung: I work for Jeon Jungkook.
Jake: Does he treat you good?
Heesung: He treats me like his own brother. I am indirectly working under King Jimin.
Jake: What about your family?
Heesung: They died. But they lead a happy life. My mother was the last one to die. She died 2 years ago.
Jake: How?
Heesung: She had brain stroke and her whole body became paralysed. She was in ICU for 3 months. Then her body fully shut down.
Jake: I am sorry. She was always nice to me.
Waitress: Here's you food and drink, sir.

Both of them sat in silence. No one dared to speak a word. Their eyes were glossy with tears. Both of them ate their food quietly.
