LEXA

She knows.

Well I don't know why I'm surprised, of course she knows.

I drop my bag to the floor. Finding a spot away from my mother. Better to keep distance. "Mom i..."

She cuts through with venom, like I can see the vein on her neck.

"You want me to be specific. Clarke Griffin. Or as you call her, Miss Griffin." She cycles around the place. This isn't pretty. I try to catch granny and she's looking right at me. Okay, pull back a little. "And I thought that this place may have brought you back to your senses." Mom is disappointed right now. "Of all the things you can do, this is just...what is wrong with you?"

"Mom it's not a big deal, they didn't publish her face, sooner or later this will die down."

"Her face is not on it because of my money." Oh hell shut the front door. "If it wasn't my contacts I wouldn't have known. Kissing in public, you took her...she's the friend." This is terrible, Clarke? If she finds out about my mother would she fight for me? "I will ruin that woman. Is she the reason why you don't want to go to college?" I never said I didn't want to, just that I would like to take a gap year to travel around the world, then I will come back

"No, she's a good person." I try to defend her. "And I'll be eighteen in five months."

"A good person who victimized you." she hisses. Clearly ignoring my age defense, I know its weak but I had to try.

Tears burn my eyes. "I'm not a victim." I can't even recognize my own voice.

"Tell that to the press once I hand her to them. They'll say you are a victim, you're defiled and abused," what? Why is she saying all this...I'm not a victim? "They will rip her apart." No, that won't happen, I won't let it.

Standing up on shaky legs. "I love her." The room goes quiet, granny walks to me and I hug her. "You can't just separate us." Wish I had told her. Instead of saying it to these two.

"Oh but I can and I will." I didn't think she can be this angry. "That woman took advantage of you."

Pulling away from granny. "Diyoza calm down, lets' all take a minute and..." I black out of the rest of my grandmother's voice, as I take off, running out of the house. I need to warn Clarke, maybe we can run away together.

CLARKE

There is a loud continuous knock at my door. The police already, I pull on warm clothes just in case there here to get me, fuck I'm so paranoid right now. Sweatpants will have to do. Upon opening the door. Diyoza pushes her way in. I look around for any thugs around in the hall way. How did she even find my place? Whoever let her in will get from me.

"Please do come in."

"Why her" oh, could've guessed its confrontation time.

"I would offer you a drink but you seem not to trust me so will just skip that." She glares at me hard. "There is nothing I would say that would make you happy." Leveling with her. I glare back at her as well, maybe even burn her with my eyes. "However I should thank you, heard you took care of my face."

If she's shocked she doesn't show it.

"I'll make sure I lock you up for good." she hisses.

"Talking about me means bringing up your daughter and that will mean Lexa will be exposed." Her jaw ticks. "We both know what that could bring to the press. So I hope you didn't come here to throw your weight around"

We glare at each other.

For a good minute.

I wouldn't be shocked if she slaps me, steam is coming off her.

She nods. "I forget that you're different." She starts to look around my living-room. "Is she here?" when I seem shocked. She yells. "Lexa?"

What a nutcase.

I look around as well. Am I missing something? "She's not here, guessing she should be with her grandmother."

Her eyes hold mine.

She already spoke to her then.

Impressive I assumed I would be the first to get the iron once she found out. Guess I'm lucky. And where could that girl be? I know she wouldn't go to her classmates. Lexa has kept them at arm's length since she met them.

"Where is my daughter?"

Shrugging. "Well I don't know."

"Good, keep it that way." she tries to shut the conversation down, making sure to leave with the last word. "Stay away from my daughter."

Not so fast.

"I don't think so."

"Listen to me..." She's disturbed by another loud knock. And I know without a doubt its Lexa. Sighing and preparing for the drama, I walk to the door. Pull it open and immediately she throws her hands around me and I hold back a wince. Her body is shaking and feels cold, how long was she outside? I frown at the thought.

"Lexa?" her body tenses and she slowly pulls away from me but stands close to me as we walk back to the cycle of...can't think of any good word but you know what I mean. "Glad you're here, that way I wouldn't want to repeat myself. This thing between the both of you is over."

"Mom?" she tries but is shot down with one glare.

"Lexa you will pack your things and come with me first thing tomorrow morning." Chuckling I take a seat, was starting to cramp up. Lexa follows suit and sits closer to me, taking my hand in hers. Diyoza almost lunges at me in that moment but instead she closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. "Do this and I won't press charges against Clarke. There would be zero contact." Oh bullshit.

I get up and head to the mini bar, pouring myself a glass of wine. I face mother and daughter. Lexa's eyes are red, she must have been crying. "Diyoza. Let me make this very clear to you. The only person who decides that I don't get to see Lexa. Is Lexa herself." She wouldn't press the charges because of not wanting bad press on her end. Turns out she thrives on good publicity, this woman can't afford negative press right now. "And you're lucky that I'm in a good mood because next time you make her cry our interaction will be bitter than a fucking lemon. And because of that she'll spend a night here,"

The glare I get might chop my head off. "How dare you."

"Oh, I love dares and you don't want to see the extra mile I can reach."

"You robbed my daughter's innocence." She chuckles darkly. "And now you think I'll let her spend another night with you, so you can continue to corrupt her? Hell will have to freeze."

I knock back the wine.

The things I want to say might hurt Lexa, so I just stare at her. She's not going to guilt me into anything and my reaction is not something to play with so I will not give her what she wants. For me to say the wrong thing. She takes Lexa's hand, pulls her to her feet and start to head out.

"I said she's not leaving." they stop. Which gives me time to remove her grip from Lexa's wrist. "Lexa came here, if she wants to come home then she will on her own term." Diyoza laughs, a frustrated laugh.

"She's my daughter, I know what's best for her." Diyoza yells, stepping up to my face.

Lexa sobs. Sitting back down. "Will you two stop fighting?" We look at her and her eyes are tear stained. I turn away feeling my heart heavy. "Mom please, let me say goodbye then." She pleads. I hear them start to talk in what I don't fully understand. Maybe some code words or some shit. It only takes a few seconds before the door pulls open and bangs closed.

The sound of the refrigerator is the only thing filling the atmosphere. "I don't want to go." She says. It was only a few weeks she wanted to be on her best behavior so she can go back to polis.
