𝐘/𝐍

Even though I was super excited about Halloween, I managed to get a few hours of sleep.

It was Thursday, meaning I had classes.

We were allowed to dress up "appropriately" during class time. I hadn't planned out an outfit, because I had just been way too busy this year, and I was deeply disappointed that i didn't have anything to wear.

Our school had a Halloween Dance that night, but the majority of the students were choosing to skip it and go trick or treating, or having parties of their own in rented out hotel rooms.

Evelyn and I were invited to one, hosted by Caroline. She has been much nicer to us in the recent month, and we've even formed a small, teeny tiny friendship.

Today was only a half-day, so all of my classes were short. During science, we watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, but Louis and I were chatting the whole time.

"So, do you want to come to the party with us?" I was inviting Louis, and Evelyn was inviting Aidan.

"Yea. Sure. But I don't have a costume."

"Me either." I say with a frown. "I'll think of something."

For the next half hour, I scroll through costume ideas on pinterest. One stands out to me the most, which is Flynn Ryder and Rapunzel.

I have a purple dress my mom bought me, and I haven't worn it yet, so I could wear that, and wear my hair down.

Louis looks a lot like Flynn Ryder as it is, so this idea would be perfect. I show him a picture of what Flynn wears, and ask him "Have you got anything like that?"

"Yea. I could wear my white shirt and a blue jacket on top."

I smile at him, and he beams back at me. "Perfect." I say.

Once our short classes are over, Evelyn, Louis, Aidan and I sit together for lunch in the Dining Hall.

"What are you guys going as?" I ask to Evelyn and Aidan.

"We're going as Mavis and Johnny." She laughs.

I smile. "Cute."

"And what about you and Louis?"

"The people from the long hair princess movie." Louis responds, and Evelyn and I laugh.

"Cinderella?" Aidan asks.

This makes me and Evelyn burst into uncontrollable fits of laughter. The boys look at us, perplexed.

"Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder." I barely manage through my laughs.

Once we quiet down, Evelyn says "Oh, Y/N! You should use that purple dress your mom bought you. It's the perfect color. And I'll help you do your makeup."

"Yes, definitely. What about you? Where are you gonna find black lipstick?

She smirks at me. "Can I borrow your eyeliner?"

That night, Louis and Aidan snuck into our dorms, and we started getting ready. We were going to attend the dance at school for a little bit, and then leave for Caroline's party.

I had put on my dress, and was just doing my makeup when Louis walked in. He had his costume on, too, and I told him I'd do a little bit of makeup on him, too, so he waited patiently, watching me put eyeshadow on, whilst sitting on my chair.

Once I'm done, I take up Louis' hand and walk him over to our mirror. "What magic are you going to do on me?" he laughs.

I smile at him in the mirror. "Not much. Just accentuating your lovely jawline with some bronzer."

He looks beyond puzzled, and I smirk at his cute and confused expression.

Evelyn has gotten ready, wearing one of my black and white striped shirts, and a black shirt over it, along with black jeans. She wore some chains, which she borrowed from a classmate, and used black eyeliner on her lips, to make them black.

She also put some black eyeshadow on her eyelids, and put minimal blush on her cheekbones. She left her long, brown hair loose.

Aidan was wearing an orange long sleeved shirt, and a green and yellow shirt over it. He was meant to wear shorts with the costume, but it was quite chilly outside and he would have caught a cold, so he wore a pair of sweatpants.

Evelyn put some blush on him, to give him flushed cheekbones, and put minimal eyeshadow to mimic dark eyebags.

On the other hand, I had put on my purple dress, and paired it with those leggings that are fuzzy inside, so I can stay warm. I did a soft purple eyeshadow, put some blush on my cheeks, and some highlighter on my nose.

I wore my hair down as well, and accessorized with my friendship ring, and the bracelet Louis gave me.

Louis looks exactly like Flynn, in his white shirt and blue vest, and his tan jeans. I ruffle his hair a bit, to make it look messier, and put bronzer on his jawline and nose.

Once we've finished getting ready, we take a group photo in the mirror. It turned out very cute, especially since we turned the lights off and turned our LED's orange.

We tell Louis and Aidan to sneak out and meet us at the dance, because we can't leave the dorm together, so they smuggle themselves out, and Evelyn and I wait a few minutes before leaving the room.

We arrive at the gymnasium. I hadn't taken Phys Ed this school year, so I've never been in the gym.

It's huge. Everything except the walls were a royal blue, and all the writing was gold. There were big spotlights on the high roof, where there were plenty of tennis balls stuck.

It was decorated with small bats, pumpkins, cut out's of leaves, and much more. The lights were turned down, and some rainbow lights had been switched on. There was soft music playing off the speakers, and there was a couple tables scattered around with snacks on them.

Evelyn snaps a picture of the room, in all its marvel. There were already many people there, and it was only 8. This was a 6+ dance, meaning all year 6's and above were allowed to attend.

After about 20 minutes, the music was turned up loud, and we were all having so much fun, dancing and mingling with everyone there.

We had some pumpkin sugar cookies, which the school had provided. They were really delicious, and Louis and Aidan kept going back for more.

I had gotten many compliments on my costume, and I was loving it. A lot of stress went into it, so it was worth it.

At half past nine, we all piled into an Uber outside of the school, and made our way to the hotel rooms Caroline was renting for the party.
