Leaving All Behind

Luca's POV:

I made a decision, I am done with this life, I can't leave like this, putting Ires's life in danger, killing others

That day, I went to the mansion to tell my father that I quite the mafia, and I am not gonna lie, I'm a bit afraid of his reaction, I mean he did so many mistakes but he will always be my father and for that, I know he's going through a lot but I have to think about my self now, I 'm done putting the mafia in the first place

I got into the house, every thing were smashed, I found Adrien there standing not saying a single word, I knew that he told him about his decision
My dad said as he saw me:
"- well, lucky for me, I have two sons, Adrien if you think of leaving me again, I'll give everything to your brother
Adrien: dad, I'm not leaving you, I'm leaving the mafia
Luca: wow wow wow, wait a second, Adrien, you're fucking leaving to Italy, you're leaving us all but that's not the problem, dad you're giving me what is my right, what it's mine from the beginning because I'm the oldest son, but you decide to give it to Adrien instead and now you're having other thoughts? Well guess what father?? I'm leaving all behind and starting a new life far away from all this, far away from you

Adrien: Luca, do you wanna know why I chosed Italy?? Why don't you tell him dad
Dave: what are you talking about?
Luca: well, yeh, now, I'm curious
Adrien: because our grandparents are still alive, they been sending us letters and money and your dad kept it a secret like always
Luca: huh 🥱, why I am not even shocked, I think I got used to be the last one to know
Dave: how did you know that?
Adrien: is that even matters now??

Dave: you sneaked into my office, didn't you?? what's all this about?? What made you go against me? Huh? Let me think, that girl, what was her name again, yes Ires, by the way, wich one of you is dating her?? look you two, I don't care if she's my died friend's daughter, if you two does not stop speaking nonsense I'll kill her to keep you two for me only
Luca: try it and you'll see
Dave: so, my oldest son is the one how gets the girl, I'm proud of you, stealing your brother's girl, good for you son

Adrien: this insane, I'm out
Dave: did I teach to walk away?? Adrien come back here"

I grabbed Adrien's arm before he can get out and whispered
"can you please pick up Ires on your way, and Adrien don't think about this, I'll talk to him, brother"
He nodded and left, I looked my father in the eyes and said:
"- you know, for a second, I thought this were worth it but now, it doesn't matter, do you ever think of us?? Your children?? Even for a second? The danger that you are putting us through everyday, if my mom were alive, she would never let you do that, she would do the same thing as we're doing, leave you for your misery
- stop talking, Luca, I swear I'll kill that girlfriend of yours, and the club that you think you're keeping it a secret form me, I'll burn it to the ground if I had to
- it's all your fault Dave, you're making everybody hate you, you're not even standing the thought that there is some one that actually care about me and if you hurt Ires, I'll kill you myself Master Garcia, also stay away from my club
- luca, I can't let you both go
- why?
- I steel need you, at least for this year, son
- then let Adrien go, I will finish all the work alone for this year, then I'll go
- OK, ok, I promise
- I don't need your promise dad, I need your word
- alright then, you have my word, you will work for me only this year
- and dad, please don't tell anyone about this especially Adrien"

In the mafia world, a promise can be break but a word, it means everything to a mafia leader, if you lost your word you lost your dignity and no one will ever work with you
And for me, I had to put myself in the second place again because I had to protect my little bro
Alright, that doesn't seem like old me, old Luca would never do that, but I changed, I'm selfless now and between us, I'm proud of myself

And of course, I decided not to tell anyone about that
I was with my friends when Ires called me:
"- hey babe
- hey, Ris
- can you pick me up now
- why, is there something wrong?
- no, no, classes have finished early today and I'm thinking that we should head the mall together for shopping
- mmm, can't we go to a restaurant or just stay home and play video games?
- ooo🥺, please baby, my friend Emma really wants to meet you, after I told her about my perfect boyfriend, she's waiting to see you, pretty please!!
- alright, OK, I'll be there in ten
