CHAPTER 14: RECKLESS

"AHOY! First mate Mohji's back!"
"S-Sorry Captain... The kid... Cap'n... Buggy..." Mohji tries to say, looking beat up with a passed-out lion behind him.
"THE KID!? The kid in the Straw Hat beat you!? Not Zoro!?" The squeak of Buggy's voice intensifies.
"The kid... Underestimated him... Cap'n... Sir... Beware... The Rub-" Mohji starts to waver as he speaks, his gaze disoriented. "...Rub- Rub-...Man..." And so he falls, worn out.
"What'd he say?"
"Mohji was trying to tell us something..."
"He could barely stand! Must have been important..."
"Beware the Rub!?"
"What kind of Rub could do that to a man!?"
"Hmm... That boy must have used some diabolical rubbing technique on him!..." Buggy says irritated.
"AR! The skipper's got it!"
"Darn you, Mohji! Beaten by a masseur!? If this gets out, our reputation's scuttled!" Buggy shouts looking at the fallen Mohji. "Load the Buggy Balls you swabs!! We've a town to destroy!!"
"AYE AYE, Cap'n Buggy!"
"Rubber Man..." Mohji whispers but no one noticed.

The refuge of the townspeople.
"What's that!?"
"Hey! It's ChouChou from the pet food shop!"
"We're glad you're okay, boy! We were worried about you!" A man with glasses pets ChouChou, seeing his wounds.
"He's hurt bad, cures pirates!"
'Let's take care of his wounds!"
"But where's the mayor?" An old man asks to the one with glasses.
"That's right! Mayor Boodle went to feed ChouChou, what's ChouChou doing here without him?" The man with glasses say thinking about the mayor.
"You don't think something happened to the mayor?" A woman ass concerned.
"This isn't good... I'll go find him!" Another may say.
"Now don't go off half-cocked! The mayor's too clever to let himself get captured. He knows this town better than anyone!" The old man says stopping the man that tried to go search the mayor. "But he also care about the town more than anyone, maybe too much. I warned him not to take any risks, I just hope he heard me."

Luffy and Keiko stay there sitting down even after ChouChou left, all of a sudden Nami starts walking towards Luffy making him look at her in confusion.
"Sorry I yelled at you!" Nami tells Luffy, smiling at him.
"That's okay, I know you lost someone to pirates, I understand. Not that I want to hear the details or anything..." Luffy stands up, brushing off the dirt, making Keiko look at him from the ground smiling at him in admiration.
"UNGRRR!!" The mayor starts to growl. "I CAN'T STAND IT NO MORE!!!" Everyone looks at him in shock, not knowing what to expect of the man in front of them.
"I can't stand any more of their cruel bullying! Not after the way ChouChou and this kid fought back so bravely!" The mayor shouts. "What kind of Mayor stands back and watches his town be destroyed!?"
