After leaving the entrance chamber, Sonic, Jesse, and friends ride their minecarts through a tunnel that leads into much larger chamber.
As the carts move up an incline, Jesse remarks,
Jesse: Whoa, this place is huge!
Looking around, Sonic, Jesse, and friends see many more tracks throughout the chamber, many of which lead into tunnels marked by giant images like the head of a Creeper, a skull, and even a block of TNT.
Sonic: All these tracks... It kinda reminds me of those Minecarts that the Old Order used to get around the Nether.
Jesse: Now that you mention it, this kinda does look like that...
While the carts continue to climb, Sonic sees Stella and Lluna riding along another track in a pair of minecarts.
Before the group can say anything else, the carts briefly arrive on a flat section of track.
Looking ahead, Jesse notices a large drop and says,
Jesse: Everybody hold on!
The carts then go over the drop as Lukas and Radar let out yells of fright.
Sonic: Whoa-ho!
Charmy: Whoo, yeah! This is awesome!
After reaching the bottom of the drop, the carts make a sharp turn and Radar screams,
Radar: I QUESTION MY JUDGMENT!!!!
Vector: You're not the only one!
Espio: Just hold onto the carts and try to keep them on the tracks!
The carts hit another drop before winding around several large stalacmites.
They then make a sharp left turn before ascending again.
During this ascent, Sonic and Jesse look to see Stella, Lluna, and Petra's group on separate tracks in another area of the chamber.
Just then, Lukas calls from ahead,
Lukas: Watch out!
Looking ahead, Sonic and Jesse see a giant stalactite hanging right above the track and quickly duck out of the way to avoid it.
Espio: Good call, Lukas. That stalactite could have knocked us out of these carts!
After making a short ascent, the carts that Sonic and Jesse's group are riding on make several sharp turns until they reach a point where they are riding alongside Petra's group.
As they wave at Sonic's group, Amy asks,
Amy: You guys enjoying the ride so far?
Tails: For the most part!
Vector: Just being on this ride feels like a challenge in of itself!
Shadow: These minecarts are probably just a way to get us into the palace...
Rouge: Which means that the real challenge lies somewhere at the end of these tracks!
Jesse: Yeah, it definitely looks that way!
Suddenly, Petra's group heads left while Sonic and Jesse's group goes right.
Sonic: See you guys a bit later!
Petra: Alright, good luck!
The carts make another sharp turn and start moving towards a tunnel marked by the image of a large skull.
