It was another cold, wet, and rainy day. I loved these days, but no one else did. I never understood the minds of those I knew. I was on my way home to my parent's. I know, I'm twenty three and I still live with my parents. I just didn't have enough to live on my own yet.
I had just turned a corner when I heard a few shouts.
"WAIT! I JUST NEED YOUR SOUL!" Then, I heard a thump and a groan. I ran over, knowing it probably wasn't a good idea. I realized I was running into an alley. Great, I'll be dead by morning, I thought as I looked for the one who had shouted. It was so dark I could barely see my feet in front of me. Or what I had just stepped on. I heard a groan from underneath my foot and jumped back.
"Oh, my gosh! Are you alright?!" I knelt down and felt forward until my hand touched a person's shoulder. Whoever it was sat up and looked at me. I knew they were looking at me because I could see their bright green eyes even in the darkness.
"How many times do I have to tell people?!" The person growled, "Not the face!" I stood up, shaking. I offered my hand to help the person up, asking, "A-are you alright?" The person took my hand and I pulled him up. I knew it was a guy from the voice. My eyes widened when I saw what he looked like in the moonlight. He was wearing this red coat that seemed darker in a spot, had red glasses, and long red hair.
"Wait a second.. Do I know you?!" The red-head asked, pulling out a book. He flipped through the pages quickly. He looked up, a bit embarrassed but mostly agitated. "What's your name?"
"L-Lucille Weston," I replied, confused and a bit terrified. Then what my mother once told me popped into my head. "Who are you? I won't answer anymore questions until you tell me what your name is!" The red-head looked up from his book, his eyebrow twitching.
"Grell Sutcliff," he growled, not too pleased with what he found in his book. I looked at the book. confused. I asked, "What's that book?" I tried grabbing it from him, but he yanked it away.
"Hands off! I'm not allowed to share this sort of stuff," he replied, squirming a bit. "Willy would demote me!" Okay, it's official; this guy is nuts, not a very mannerly guy, and- I stopped thinking, my thoughts changing. I laughed to myself, telling him, "Okay, my first thought of you was fabulous. Is that bad?"
"R-really? You think I'm fabulous?!" Grell got so excited, the book gone, and he hopped a bit. "No one ever says that!" I laughed more, liking this crazy red-head.
