William and I walked into the room at the same time, but as soon as we walked in, I dashed to Grell. He was awake, growling about something. I smiled at him and gently moved some hair out of his face, stroking his cheek at the same time. He looked at me and his face brightened.
"Lucille!" Then, he saw William. "Willy!" When William didn't argue or even give Grell a look about the nickname, Grell frowned a bit, sitting up. "Wiiiiiiillllll! Why won't you argue with me? I know how much you hate the nickname." Grell grinned a bit, but his grin vanished when William looked down, hiding his face. "Will?"
"Grell, how are you feeling?" I asked in the hope I could keep Grell from seeing Will-he now gets this nickname from me, he can deal with it-cry. Grell looked at me and shrugged, wincing a bit.
"Tired, reeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyy tired! And my chest hurts and they won't let me see! I want to see what happened!" Grell started to growl about how much he hated secrets and I giggled. I stroked his hair, unintentionally bringing on Grell's worry again. "Why are you two so upset? Did they tell you something they won't tell me?" No, I thought. Because they know we already know. Tears came to my eyes and I shook my head.
"'Course not, we're just a bit worried about you," I half-lied. We were worried, but not just because he was hurt. Because worse might happen to him. He lost so much blood, I was scared for him. "Now, come on, let's get away from upsetting topics." Grell grinned, then looked around. "What is it?"
"Where's my scythe?" Grell asked, sitting up more, wincing. I realized I had left it where he was hurt, completely forgetting about it.
"I'll go get it for you." I quickly stood up. Grell looked a bit disappointed, but didn't argue. Instead he nodded and grinned a bit when Will walked over to him as I walked off. I realized I could appear places like Will and Grell did, so I disappeared to that awful spot. When I got there, I looked around for his scythe, spotting it near a dried pool of-
I almost started crying again. It was near a dried pool of Grell's blood. I walked to it slowly, dreading the memory. It all flashed before my eyes when I grabbed the scythe, and tears began streaming down my face. Before I broke down, I appeared at the hospital room again. I guess I was gone longer than I thought; Grell was holding Will's glasses out of his reach and was grinning brightly.
"Come on, Will! Don't you need these?" Will was reaching for them, even going from one side of the bed to the other, trying to get them from Grell. He stumbled a few times. "Honestly," Grell said, mimicking Will's voice, "all Grim Reapers are required to wear their glasses." I giggled and they both stopped, looking at me. Grell brightened more when he saw his chainsaw. I set it near his bed, laughing more when Will, unsuccessfully, attempted to get his glasses again.
"Not trying to spoil the moment, but you actually look cute without your glasses, Will," I said, smirking. I saw the faintest of blush on Will's face as Grell handed the glasses back to him.
"W-what? Lucille, that is not a necessary comment," Will said, putting his glasses back on. I laughed, shrugging. "And Grell, I do need these," Will said, looking at Grell. He couldn't keep a stern expression on his face, though. Just by looking at Grell, anyone would know why. Grell didn't have a shirt on because of the stitches on his chest. It would hurt to put a shirt on, so the doctors didn't bother. He looked miserable whenever he moved too much, but managed to stay cheery. It killed me to watch him in pain.
A doctor walked in, telling Grell, "You have three other visitors, sir." Grell looked interested and sat up more, slightly wincing again. The doctor turned around. "Come on in, he isn't sleeping any time soon." He sounded agitated. He walked off as the two people walked in. Grell's mouth opened wide when he saw who it was. It was Ronald, some guy in gray who had his hair in his face(A/N, you know who it is ;3 UNDERTAKER!!), and a man in a tail coat, his name clicking in my head. Sebastian. Will's eyes narrowed at Sebastian.
"We heard~ you got hurt~, Grell~," the one with hidden eyes was smiling, a jar filled with dog treats in his hands. He ate a treat as Ronald spoke up, "Yeah, and I brought him," Ronald said, jerking his thumb towards Sebastian, "'Cause I remembered you talkin' about him a lot. He didn't argue much when I said you were in the hospital." Sebastian sighed and said, "Only because my mistress said I should see you. Don't get your hopes up." Grell was still shocked and happy to see everyone.
After we visited Grell for awhile, Sebastian and Will arguing almost the whole time, the doctor came in, telling everyone it was time for Grell to sleep. Grell grumbled and everyone started to walk out. Sebastian patted Grell's head as he did, getting a hit from Will once they were out of view. Soon, I was the last to leave. I took a look around the room, seeing a jar of those treats, a picture of Grell tackling Will, a picture of Sebastian, and Grell's chainsaw near his bed.
"Miss, come on, he needs his sleep." The doctor was waiting impatiently at the door. I nodded, walking to Grell, quickly kissing him, surprising him. He tried to kiss back, but I pulled away, afraid I'd burst into tears again. I started towards the door, freezing in the doorway when Grell asked in a sleepy but kind of serious voice, "Do you love me?" Then I walked out, tears streaming down my face.
