The next few days breezed by quickly. I didn't even remember what day it was until William came to visit me. I still lived in the apartment, but my parents had moved out into their own home.

William knocked on the door and I quietly told him he cold come in. He opened the door and looked at me, obviously shocked. I was a mess; I hadn't showered since the hospital, I was in a tank top and yoga pants, I was curled up on the couch, and I had been laying that way since the hospital as well.

"Lucille, what is that smell?!" Will cried, putting a hand to his nose. I sighed, glancing over to the kitchen. I pointed to it, Will following the direction He was disgusted; there was an old box of pizza on the counter. I hadn't eaten much else.

Will cleaned up the box and actually started cleaning the apartment a bit. I sat up slowly, murmuring, "No point, I won't bother cleaning any of it after you leave." Will wasn't pleased nor amused.

"Lucille, Grell is asking for you. He- You should probably go see him. He's been alright. He's been getting more presents, the little idiot." He seemed to be trying to cheer me up. Something wasn't right; one, Will never tries to cheer anyone up, and two, he was hiding something. Like there was something he wouldn't tell me.

"How is he doing?" I asked, stretching my legs out. Will pretended he didn't hear me, instead throwing laundry down the laundry chute. "Will. How is Grell doing?" I must have agitated him somehow-probably with the apartment I guessed-because he snapped, "Ask him yourself!" Then, he left.

"Geeze, someone's touchy," I grumbled, deciding I should go see Grell. I got up, went to the bathroom, took a shower, then, with a towel wrapped around me, went to my room to get dressed. I looked around my room, looking for something to wear. I eventually decided on something and went to the hospital.

I hated hospitals. They were always too bright, too white, and too depressing. I quickly walked through the hospital, getting stopped by Will on the way to Grell's room. I gave him a look. "What? You gonna snap at me again?" His eyes showed a spark of an emotion other than agitation; hurt. He shook his head, holding up a pair of silver glasses with red lining.

"All Reapers need them. Yours took awhile, though, because no one had a clue what you would have liked." I took the glasses from his and put them on. They did improve my vision a bit, but I blamed being a Reaper for that. I looked at him, replying, "Thanks for these. Oh, and thanks for the green eyes." There was a slight hint of sarcasm in my voice, but I was more grateful than sarcastic. He nodded, then walked off, clearly not wanting to go back to Grell's room.

As soon as I walked into the room, I could tell something was wrong. Grell hadn't jumped a bit as he usually did when he saw me. Instead, he was laying down in his bed, either asleep or trying to sleep. I grabbed a chair from near the door and dragged it over to Grell's bed, on his side. His eyes opened, and the color had dulled. I felt cold.

"L-Luce..?" He was weaker than before. He started to reach a hand toward me, but I grabbed it before he even could reach it far. "Where were you before...? You never.. came back," he said, his eyes looking sad. Now, I felt both hollow and cold.

"I know, but I just couldn't come back before." The words that came out of my mouth next, I wanted to slap myself for. "I wasn't ready." Grell smiled weakly and sleepily. "I'm sorry." He shook his head and sat up a bit. I pushed him down gently. "Don't you need to relax." He looked agitated even while he looked so weak.

"I've been relaxing for a week! I want to move around!" He whined, attracting the attention of a nurse walking by.

"What is it now?" She asked, sounding exasperated. Grell growled, but it wasn't as strong as his old growls.

"I want outta this place! IT'S TOO BORING! I WANT OOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUT!" I was as surprised by Grell's sudden burst of energy as the nurse. "When can I leave? I feel fine!" The nurse started to object when Grell sat up completely, but the doctor from before walked in and said, "Well, if you have someone to take you out, then you can leave today." Grell grabbed my wrist and threw my hand into the air. My face turned red as the doctor looked at me. "Well? Can you?" I nodded, smiling fondly at Grell.

Soon, Grell and I were walking out of the hospital. I had to wrap my arms around one of his arms to keep him from falling over. He was still a bit dizzy. The nurses seemed a bit too pleased that Grell was leaving. In fact, I think I heard a few cheering.

"Where to now, Grell?" I asked him, his hand holding one of mine. He grinned and said, "The Academy. I want to show Willy I'm all better!" I giggled and nodded.
